Cala Gourmet — Restaurant in Higüey

For tourists at resorts with bad food: Pizza was good especially the Hawaiian pizza. But it was such a hassle to order. If you don’t know good Spanish you better find someone who does. It took an hour to order and around 50 mins to get here. They take orders through whatsapp text messages and not over the phone so it was a back and forth battle. I had to have someone from the resort translate and send messages and voice memos in spanish to them. I felt bad because the worker at the resort had other things to do so I had to wait a while just to order and then the delivery person went to the wrong address so it took long to deliver too. Prices were decent and pizza was good. If you can find a way to get here I would suggest ordering in person

Si no sabes bien el español, mejor busca a alguien que lo sepa. Tomó una hora ordenar y alrededor de 50 minutos para llegar aquí. Reciben pedidos a través de mensajes de texto de WhatsApp y no por teléfono, por lo que fue una batalla de ida y vuelta. I had a very bad experience ordering from Cala.

I ordered 3 different plate, honestly nothing was amazing, chicken burger was made with a bun from the supermarket, and my order of chucken wings were rotten and had a bad smell, fries cold and mushy.

I'm giving an extra star because the owner was friendly and apologizing for the issues.
