Las Caracolas — Restaurant in Higüey

Went here for a breakfast and dinner, and lunches after swimming. Great ocean view from here and ambiance at dinner is the best, with the sun going down. Foodwise, for buffets, seemed like less options and less appealing than at the Alcazar. Food is more open to the elements, flies. Fresh juices and smoothies were not on ice which would be better if with dairy and to keep cold. Went here for lunches bec wanted a break to eat from swimming but few in our group were spoken to for wearing swimwear there even we were dry. Should designate an area then. Better food at dinner. Would only get ceviche (need more than 1 serving bec a very small portion) and king of sea soup for starters. The stuffed grouper was good though wasn’t into the orange sauce. La comida fue excelente. Todos los platos estuvieron espectaculares. Probamos el atún y el ceviche como entrada, la sopa muy rica y el salmón como plato principal estuvo a otro nivel. La mesera fue increíblemente amistosa y servicial. Lamentablemente el gerente o encargado, empañó nuestra experiencia en el restaurante. Parecía estar malhumorado o con prisa. Nos prestó muy poca atención al visitar nuestra mesa, no nos ayudó al solicitarle recomendaciones, ni pasó en ningún momento a preguntar cómo la estábamos pasando. Al terminar, se paró cerca de la mesa y apuró nuestra salida. Estamos claros en que la comida es la protagonista del restaurante, pero es el servicio el que lleva la experiencia a otro nivel.
