La Paisana — Restaurant in Higüey

A simply one to avoid. The steaks are clearly cooked by someone who cooks in the main canteen restaurant. A table of six, all asked for medium rare, were mostly well done. Once our steaks arrived, we awaiting our sides (fries / sauces / breads). To which we waited and waited, then called one of the waiters over - she called across to the waiter that took our order - she responded with we have no more fries, no sides nothing left ( bare in mind we were sitting down at the 6:30pm). So we complained saying you didn’t tell us this? And they both just left our table. We were clearly disappointed and our child’s meal had also not arrived. After we finished, our child’s plate came (photo attached) a dry chicken breast with some cheese on top. One of our guests went to the toilet only to discover that tables were being given fresh fries…? Once finished, lucky the waiter thought it was funny to say she’s found some chips - and brought a small plate of potato chips. Then more places of fries started to arrive.

The waiter also was asked many times for more wine, to which a response of her rolling her eyes was given.

Definitely worth...

Worst experience at a restaurant especially having reservations for our big group late night dinner.

You expect when the resort makes the reservations and printed paper shows the time and # of ppl, restaurant to deny that reservation is so crazy and very inconsiderate.

Rude restaurant manager tells us the reservation is not approved but the print out clearly shows the time and # of ppl. They didn't even try to consider it since it was late at 9 dinner reservation and we had to scramble to find another place to eat for our big group. They didn't even consider giving us another date/time or just be a little compassionate about them cancelling on us.

Hope they will change their reservation process for future reservations and making ppl comfortable coming to have a good time and a meal....

A few days later, we were able to make reservations for 5 of our group ppl, and at dining time, it wasn't even 40%full during the entire time they were there but food was supposedly good. But wonder, why they declined our reservations the first time maybe due to other reasons?? 😞

Never again at La...

La Paisana was the best dining experience, I've ever had at any resort. The staff was amazing. Cordial, friendly, efficient, professional, attentive, & made you feel like one of the family. The food was delicious. The steak cooked to your liking. Dishes were beautifully presented. Drinks were just right. The staff's suggestions were always on point. To be honest, I'd let them pick the dish everytime & they were always delicious. Never disliked their choices & I ate there, six out of the eight nights I was at the resort. The food always came out hot & fresh. They have indoor & outdoor seating areas. Great for families, couples, or single travelers (like me). Wheelchair accessible. Plenty of options to choose from on the menu. So if you're at the Grand Palladium resort(s), definitely go check out La Paisana. I hope your experience there will be as good as...
