La Catedral — Restaurant in Higüey

Sitting in la catedral praying that we get water, coffee, and silverware. There are about 10 other families here and the place is barely full. We still had to wait about 15 minutes just to get coffee and water. The coffee and water waiters have a soldier stride (chin up and eyes forward) anything to avoid looking down to see you need more drink—the female working the water and coffee is their only good one. Waitstaff is always chit chatting in the corner (see second photo), manager is taking pictures of his centerpiece setup and not controlling his staff (photo added so you you all can see his pride any joy).

I was able to get into La Catedral when both Behique & Torres turned me away due to capacity, so that's a huge plus in my book. Food is comparable to the other buffets, although service may be slightly slower than Behique. There's more space to move around between tables, which is nice, but the buffet line itself is more crowded than Behique. And there were definitely several birds flying around...

It is the restaurant that offers the all-you-can-eat buffet of the Grand Palladium Bavaro resort, where they offer breakfast and dinner. The food is ok to good, but even if I'm not picky, I think they could do better. The service is great, and they do their best to please us.
