Updated November 2018 As long as Nathan is the owner or Stanly is the manager, NEVER EAT HERE!!!
This place keeps getting worse and worse. As long as Nathan is the owner and Stanly is the manager, I would avoid this place like the plague. Here is the scenario.
I arrive at Onnos at 7, because their website says happy hour is everyday 5-8. Our waiter tells me there is no happy hour and the website is incorrect. That's not my problem, so I ask for the manager.
Stanly, supposably the manager, tells me that that is not their website. I question her that despite the fact that the website says Onnos, Bavaro, uses their logo, and photos of the restaurant I am in, that she still insists this is not their website! She admittedly denies, this is not their website! (She's obviously not too bright, and I need to question whomever would hire and promote this person to manager).
Stanly then shows me their Instagram page. At which point I show her that her website has a link to the exact Instagram page also.
Finally, being at a loss for words, she agrees with me and decided to give me 50% off my meal. Finally!
After we order a couple of drinks we decide to order some food. I ask the waiter what food is 50% off. He tells me that I could order anything on the menu and that all food is 50% off because of the inconvenience they caused.
I order a couple of meals, a couple more drinks, and I'm happy. The I ask for the bill...
When the bill comes there is no discount on the drinks and only 20% discount on the food! I question this because just 45 minutes prior I was told that it would be 50% of everything. I even confirmed this twice!
The waiter told me that yes, that is true, but his manager Stanly, changed her mind and that he could only give 20% off the food now!
Of this isn't the most horrible service I don't know what is! I had a date and planned a nice romantic evening out. Thanks to Onnos, the night was ruined!!!
OVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!
This review was about one year ago: This place used to be the best. Now the menus changed, and they must have a new cook also. Sad to say the service and quality...
Read moreWe came here back in November 2021, had a great time and the taco sampler was awesome. Returned back today and was disappointed. Our server was very rude, short, came up to us and told me she didn’t have time to take our order and didn’t return for over 15 minutes. We ordered, quite a bit before the table next to us, and our order came out much later. We went to order a couple extra tacos and was told “no more tacos” (we only ordered 8 between 3 people). We decided to then order dessert instead. Waited almost an hour, an walked up to pay for our food and get our dessert to go, again met with a very rude server. Not to mention we saw over 50 more tacos go out of the kitchen, so I guess there was more tacos? Also saw the taco sampler go out, which we were also told wasn’t available. In the span of almost 3 hours we had 2 rounds of drinks, some tacos and very poor/rude/slow service. Would not recommend if you’re looking for an all around great establishment. However, after reading other reviews, I’m prepared for a snarky, rude and dismissive response just like their...
Read moreIt’s a beachfront dive bar, and the breeze makes it one of the better spots to meet friends for a drink. I went there specifically to get some hot wings , as their menu lists a “diabolo” level of spicy. The wings were…. just awful. They were very tough, not fresh, they were tiny, and they arrived room temperature to the touch. They also arrive plain, with a side sauce for dipping, but it’s just a yellow mayonnaise. It’s not spicy at all, a baby would complain that it’s bland. I asked them to bring out the diabolo sauce, the hottest thing they have, and she brought some Tabasco. I also got some garlic parmesan wings with the order, and again the wings are plain - they gave me one side cup of garlic paste and another cup full of grated cheese. It seemed like a prank, but I think that’s actually how they do wings here. Ok all of that said, service was great, and I had two Moscow mules (one was with bourbon) and they were both good. The music isn’t too loud, the breeze is great, it seems like a good spot to mingle with people, I’d come back. I’d just order...
