I came here with my family on a Wednesday evening is high expectations, as I had visited other Fogo de Chao locations in Brazil. We also chose not to go to there steakhouses around the area, as I said to my family: Fogo must have the best quality food. I was wrong. First, let's talk about the service: the place is understaffed. The servers that take care if your drinks, silverware, etc. are completely overwhelmed and don't have time to come to your table. We waited vey long to get drink refills, didn't get enough fresh dinnerware. The servers that go around with the meats are also very scarce and we had to wait several minutes in between cuts. The main server that also was assigned to our table had an attitude as if she was superior to us. Very distasteful. Quality: very poor. I had expected to just get premium meat and I can easily say that cuts like rib-eye, lomo ancho and tenderloin were of very poor quality beef. I can tell by the taste that these were domestic cattle of poor quality. As far as the signature cut, picanha, seems they were mixing two types of grades... in one round they brought what I thought was premium imported meat, and it was delicious. On the next round, same cut, poor quality domestic I guarantee. The salad bar: not as plentiful as I had experienced in other Fogos. In addition, vegetables seem old and dry. Not many variety of olives, oils, no sushi/sashimi as you get in other Fogos. Hams are local (not imported) and barely any fresh fruit.
Final opinion: not worth it. I will be trying the other...
Read moreOur final evening in Quito, following a delightful two-week vacation exploring the Galapagos and Amazon regions, was eagerly anticipated. For this special occasion, we decided to dine at Fogo de Chao, nestled within the JW Marriott. The restaurant boasts over 200 seats, an opulent salad bar, and an extensive selection of cocktails and wines.
Upon entering, we were immediately impressed by the interior design and subtle lighting, which set the perfect ambiance for a relaxing evening. The gracious hostess (whose name eluded us, but she hails from Orlando) went above and beyond to accommodate us. She thoughtfully lowered the background music, remembering our reservation request from the previous day and my wife’s hearing sensitivity.
Our server, David, was an absolute delight. His hospitality, courtesy, and genuine concern ensured that our evening was nothing short of excellent. Opting for the full-service experience, we savored a diverse array of more than 10 cuts of beef, chicken, and pork, accompanied by delectable sides.
After three hours of indulging in fine food and wine, I confidently rate this Fogo de Chao branch higher than our previous encounters in Florida. The Ecuadorian service culture shines brightly in this elegant dining establishment. Should we find ourselves back in Quito, Fogo de Chao will undoubtedly be our go-to choice—just like the JW Marriott, which also deserves a separate glowing review. Both establishments deserve Five stars...
Read moreAs someone who lived in Brazil for 13 years, I can confidently say that Fogo de Chão in Quito delivers an authentic Brazilian churrasco experience that rivals—if not surpasses—many locations in the U.S. and even stands proudly alongside the best in Brazil itself.
From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is elegant yet warm, and the service is absolutely top-notch. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. The selection and quality of the meats are outstanding—each cut is cooked to perfection and served with that familiar Brazilian flair that brought me right back to my time in São Paulo.
The Market Table is fresh, colorful, and thoughtfully curated, offering a perfect balance to the richness of the churrasco. And the pão de queijo? Just like home.
What truly impressed me was how well this location captures the spirit of Brazilian hospitality while maintaining a refined, upscale feel. It’s rare to find a churrascaria outside of Brazil that gets it this right.
Fogo de Chão Quito is more than a meal—it’s a celebration of flavor, culture, and tradition. Highly recommended for anyone craving a genuine Brazilian experience in Ecuador. I’ll...
