WuTong Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Red Sea

As Chinese I don’t think their food is good enough as a Chinese restaurant, the owner told me that the chef was requesting for salary increase and she refused then there is no Chinese chef to cook, only the local Egyptian who used to prepare food for the Chinese cook, which they don’t really know how to make Chinese food. The teste is terrible. And service is awful as there is no waiters at all. As the owner said, she just paid the salary few days ago and all waiters resigned, so what happened to the owner?why the cook left and waiters all left?

There are many flys in the restaurants and street cats sitting on the outdoor tables, I maybe they are special waiters providing emotional service.

Price is too expensive compared with the food they offered, I spent 5820EGP(116USD,831 CNY) for 3 adults and one kid, and the owner is using 6.5 exchange rate for WeChat payment,usually Chinese restaurants in Cairo use 6.9. I had an incredibly authentic Chinese dining experience at this restaurant. The meat dishes were exceptionally delicious, paired with top-notch Chinese teas like black tea, oolong tea, and unique flower teas. The ambiance was charming, with the owner, a tasteful lady, meticulously decorating the place. A cute milky-white cat often graced the entrance, inviting gentle interactions.

Beyond the delightful food and atmosphere, what truly moved me was the owner's kindness. After our meal, we needed to purchase some scuba diving gear. The owner went above and beyond, guiding us to several shops, providing approximate prices, and even arranging a taxi for us as tourists. I'm truly touched by the care and attention the owner...

Am 24. Januar 2024 haben wir um 17:00 Uhr das WuTong besucht und unsere Erwartungshaltung hat sich nicht erfüllt.

Wir waren zu diesem Zeitpunkt die einzigen Gäste.

Das sehr einfache Ambiente ist nicht einladend. Am Tisch sitzt die Hälfte der Gäste auf kleinen harten Stühlen, die andere Hälfte auf einer Holzbank ohne Rückenlehne.

Es gibt keine Speisekarte.

Man bekommt pro Tisch ein Tablett mit der Getränke- und Speisenauswahl. Es kann immer nur ein Gast gleichzeitig die Speisen aussuchen. Viele Speisen haben nur einen Chinesischen Namen. Die Speisen mit englischem Namen haben außer dem Namen keine Beschreibung. Die Bilder der Speisen sind schön und vielversprechend, haben aber mit dem was danach serviert wird sehr wenig gemeinsam.

Einige Gerichte, die auf dem Tablett aufgeführt sind, gab es nicht.

Bestellt wird auch mit dem Tablett.

Der Kellner sitzt mehr vor dem Restaurant und beschäftigt sich mit seinem Smartphone und steht den Gästen nicht zur Verfügung.

Die Zieai Soup, die serviert wurde sah nicht appetitlich aus und hatte mit dem Foto nichts gemeinsam. Sie war undefinierbar und schmeckte mit nicht.

Die "Spring-Rolls" waren dagegen gut.

Das "Sweet and Sour Chicken" war erhitztes Hühnerfleisch mit etwas wenig Soße, die wie eine Industriesoße schmeckte. Das Foto auf dem Tablett sah ganz anders und viel besser aus, als das Hühnerfleisch, das serviert wurde.

Das "Kongbao Chicken" (siehe Foto) wurde sehr trocken ohne Soße serviert.

Beilagen müssen zum Essen gesondert bestellt werden.

Zu dem Rechnungsbetrag kommt noch ein Zuschlag in Höhe von 10 % der mit "GS" ausgewiesen ist. Keine Ahnung was das sein soll.

Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht.

Wir werden das Restaurant nicht weiter empfehlen und vorerst nicht...
