Read moreMy son woke me up at 6am saying “Baba up!!Blue beep beep”which can only mean he wanted to do a McKidies run, being from SoCal the only thing I can think of was let’s go! So we walked over from the Philae Hotel, (luxury living as my sister in law opined)We passed the minefield of baksheesh and police check points and made it in time to place our order. I walk in and get a “salam basha!” My first impressions of this little American oasis was “ya Salam” time for some tasteless American food. The menu was basic breakfast, no fool or baid basterma here. I ordered [ ] two McMuffins, [ ] three hotcakes, [ ] two hash browns, [ ] coffee and orange juice. All for a total of 175 Egyptian Pounds 6 US bucks, thank you strong US dollar. The McMuffins were just as they tasted as they do at home, check! The hot cakes had honey, no syrup here, so no bueno for me. The hash browns were exactly the same as home, check! The coffee was some of the best coffee I have ever had, this country gets it coffee right. You can eat up stairs and get a good view of the Nile, just like the Founding Pharaoh’s envisioned their Country would become. Give this place a chance if you visit Aswan, good ol decadent, diarrhea causing...

I got a big Mac with fries and mcflurry. However I didn't like the big Mac and didn't eat it. I think it was a combination of too much special sauce on it.. Not enough cheese and the beef Patty's were extremely thin. However, this might be the normal within Egypt vs the West because the meat needs to meet its customs - just a guess. So in the future I would certainly try the chicken...
