Terrible service, rude waiters, rude manager, very not professional.
Entry to the restaurant, very much enjoyed the atmosphere nice music, customers dining and enjoying their food. We sat down and waited for any waiter to bring the menus to our table. One menu was brought to us and thrown down on the table, no one asked us if anyone on the table has any allergies, so if you're wanting an allergic reaction come to Nikolai. The waiters are on their phones chatting away, and one of the waiters we have seen fixing their crotch area which then they touch the plates.
Absolutely horrible service.
As a waiter comes to us to take our order, I wanted to get a share plate with many appetizers. The waiter looked at me blinked a few times and responded with a ''what'' she looked over her shoulder for her colleague to help her out as he came along they had to translate English to Estonian, we also ordered tap water and one black coffee.
Waited for 22 min for the starters to arrive. The black coffee and the tap water arrived with lemon and ice cubes in there, which you have to pay for even though we didn't ask for lemon or ice but just for tap water which is free for every customer. The waiter got agitated at us and hasn't paid attention to our table. The food arrived with the cheese balls with some kind of spices not added to the menu, as looking around the restaurant we heard that the couple behind us got a bill with half of the food they hadn't ordered.
We ordered pasta with salmon and spinach and waited for a long time for it to arrive so we decided to take the takeaway box. Reached the till to pay for the food and asked one of the waiters if I could pay for the food, he said to go there in a rude manner, after some time the same agitated waiter has come to the till and charged us more than we had, I made them aware they overcharged us and they said no we haven't, I asked for a manager and the manager said that we have to pay for tap water, I said in no restaurants the customers get free water, the manager's response was this is Estonia. As exiting the restaurant we saw our food get tossed into the takeaway with the chef's bare hands and no gloves.
That's our experience in Nikolai, definitely, our last visit, Steffani is much better for the food, atmosphere, and...
Read moreCustomer service is probably the worst I’ve encountered. We were a group of eight people. There were two tables of four free next to each other, but the waitress said it was impossible to combine these tables even if there was plenty of space. That was still ok, but it would have been nice to offer a table of eight, which became free soon after. Then we wanted to make a special order and leave out a fried egg from a hamburger because our child doesn’t eat eggs. But that was not possible because the kitchen doesn’t take any special orders, even if you are allergic to something, the waitress said. The place wasn’t even close to full, so the kitchen being in a hurry was not the case. That was enough for us, and we decided to leave without ordering anything. It wasn’t even the first time it happened, but we had the same experience last summer as well. We are not going back there ever again, that’s for sure. There are plenty of good restaurants in Pärnu with much...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant yesterday (13.04) and it was quite empty but we soon realised that it’s because a lot of people order it from bolt to their home (there were at least 8 pick ups while we were there 😅). The environment however was very relaxed and peaceful, might be because it’s a quiet season for Pärnu right now. Our food took less than 15 minutes to come and it came out DELICIOUS! When I tell that it was the best mushroom pasta I’ve had, I mean it! And VERY affordable, everything in the picture was 23€!!! What is also appreciated is the kids corner they have, making the restaurant perfect for families as well. Unfortunately we didn’t get the workers name but she was a young woman with great English and also a great smiley attitude (which has been rare in Estonia 😄). Will for sure be...
