Together with a group of 5 other people, I visited this restaurant yesterday expecting to get a promising lunch due to the good reviews here on Google Maps. I ordered a so-called carbonara as well as two of my friends did. I’ve been in many different italian restaurants throughout the world, an italian friend of mine even owns a restaurant himself, and I can tell you from a very good experience that this is not what a carbonara should look and taste like…..It tasted very bitter and it was sadly overall not edible due to the huge amount of pepper seasoning. Once my friend asked why it tasted bitter the answer we got was “due to egg yolk” and “traditional recipe and ingredients” which I directly happened to notice was not the case at all. I also have the need to mention that the portions were all in different sizes and and that the service was unbelievably rude as well as unfriendly and had even made inappropriate comments about one of my friends. We ended up getting 10% discount which I thought was ridiculous. All in all, this place was definitely overpriced for the food and the service that they offer. I would definitely not recommend you eat at...
Read moreI had the most delightful experience at Carlo's Kitchen yesterday! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and impeccable service. The ambiance was absolutely charming, combining a cozy atmosphere with a touch of elegance that made me feel like in a small restaurant in Italy.
But let’s talk about the pinsa – wow! Each bite was a revelation. The crust was perfectly crisp on the outside yet delightfully soft and airy on the inside, an absolute triumph of texture. The toppings were fresh, abundant, and masterfully balanced, creating a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. Whether you’re a fan of classic prosciutto or more adventurous toppings, this place has something to tantalize everyone.
What truly sets Carlo's Kitchen apart is the passion and dedication of the family. Their knowledge about the menu and genuine enthusiasm for the food they make and serve made the experience even more enjoyable. It’s clear they take pride in every aspect of their work.
I can't recommend this place enough. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal or a special night out, this place is an...
Read moreWent here yesterday with 5 of my friends, we expected a nice, Italian meal which was not the case. 3 of my friends ordered a carbonara which turned out to be spaghetti with bacon that basically consisted of 90% fat and 10% bad tasting meat. After asking the owner about it she reacted rude and defensive, claiming that it was the authentic version of the dish. Besides the bacon the sauce was basically not edible. It tasted bitter and weird. Again after asking the owner if it’s supposed to taste bitter she got defensive and claimed the egg yolk makes it taste bitter. After another friend of mine tried to finish the “carbonara” the owner made a disrespectful comment about her eating the carbonara that was left: “good girl”. Also the tagliatelle a ragu were poorly seasoned and lacked salt, again the owner got offended by us asking for salt. And last but not least the portion size Leaves much to be desired.
At least Everybody got a discount of 1€ for the dish. We paid around 16,50€ per person after deduction of the discount.
Cannot recommend this...
