Changing Rimi Keskus to Nautica Keskus and making it a lot bigger than before has made many things better - but then again some things have changed worse.
On the positive side On the 2nd floor there are couple of nice restaurants. For example BabyBack Ribs is very nice restaurant with mediocre prices and good menu which is large enough - and yes, there are plenty of other things than ribs. Rimi is larger than before and for example alcohol selection is large. And if/when the products you desire are on discount, then the price is very tempting and you don't have to go some "real alcohol store". Also Rimi has expanded it's pizza offerings and you can find lots of personnel doing fresh pizzas. And as before you can buy just a slice or two from a pizza or buy the whole pizza. Nice snack if you are in a hurry, super hungry or your hotel is nearby and you want to have a nice quiet time with your lovely pizza.
On the negative side There is no Hesburger or some other fast food restaurant. So if you would like to buy quickly a cheap hamburger meal, you can't do it. You have to go to BabyBack and spend lots of time... and also more money. Or you have to go to Rimi and buy a slice of pizza. It seems that there are not enough benches to sit during the busy times (usually those times when ppl are heading to their boat in D-terminal)
Hopefully they will fix these issues soon. And hopefully shops will change to shops that boat/ferry passengers need & want. It looks like there are too much of high quality / expensive shops. That kind of shops/stores survive better on the other shopping malls which are a...
Read moreThe Nautica Shopping Center is very conveniently located — right in the center of Tallinn, next to Terminal D (Port of Tallinn). It’s one of the first places tourists see when they arrive in the city. There are many hotels nearby, making it a great spot both for travelers and locals. A big plus is the spacious parking area, where you can park for free for 1 hour. The mall includes a Rimi supermarket that opens as early as 8 AM, along with many other stores — clothing, footwear, home goods, and sports shops. Everything is compact, modern, and clean.
However, there are a few things that could be improved. There used to be an entrance on the left side of the building, which is now closed — a cosmetics store occupies that space. Because of this, especially in the evening, people visiting Tallinn for the first time might find it difficult to locate the main entrance right away. It would be great if this side entrance could be reopened.
The most unpleasant issue is the sewage smell coming from the corner of the building near Terminal D. Unfortunately, it’s noticeable almost every time I visit, and in summer it becomes quite unbearable. This really spoils the first impression, as this is the area where many tourists begin their visit to Tallinn. Overall, Nautica is a pleasant, clean, and modern shopping center with a good selection of stores and an excellent location. I just wish the sewage odor could be fixed and the side entrance reopened — that would make the place...
Read moreI visit it from time to time. It’s conveniently located in central Tallinn, right next to ferry terminals D and A, where ships from Helsinki and Stockholm arrive.
On the ground floor, you’ll find a large Rimi hypermarket and a JYSK home goods store. On the second floor — Pepco (home and clothing items) and a few nice cafés.
One big plus is parking — the first hour is free. Cameras automatically scan your license plate on entry and exit, no need to get a ticket or do anything manually. If you need more time, you can drive out and back in again for another free hour.
Now the downside — the entrances. Currently, there are: – the main entrance from the parking lot, – a rear entrance from the port side, open during business hours — great for ferry passengers.
There’s also a side entrance through a cosmetics shop, but it closes after 6 PM. There used to be another entrance on the front left side (also from the parking lot), but it has now been permanently closed.
So if you’ve parked out front and only need Rimi, you have to walk all the way through the centre, which feels like a bit of a hassle.
Overall, it’s a decent shopping spot, especially if you’re near the port — but access and layout could definitely...
