ATTENDEE BEWARE....... I gave this place a One Star rating to get your attention.... I really think it's a 4-5 Star place, BUT, BUT.... PLEASE READ ON.... I spent a few days in Tallinn recently, really liked it, and Old Town is fantastic.... BUT.... I was at Hell Hunt with a friend, I left at around 9:30 because I was worn out, and I suggested my friend leave with me, but he stayed until around 11:00. Very shortly after leaving and heading for the Imperial Hotel, he was mugged by a non-English speaking young guy (I'm guessing Russian) who twisted his arm, ground him into the pavement and knocked him out. Cell phone and wallet gone, and I nice big gash around his right eye... finally found the hotel around 2:00 am....woke up around 4:00 am noticed his face was covered with blood and his hands were cut up from hitting the ground. A couple days later, while walking around the Town Hall square, we met a young girl who looked miserable. She told us she had been mugged the night before, the guy got everything and her knee was messed up and she had a cut on her head... sickening..... you might notice that there are NO COPS in Old Town.. so this area is great for young, poor douche-bags to attack tourists.....NEVER LEAVE THIS AREA ALONE AT NIGHT, or you will be a...
Read moreThis is a lively local pub which serves a wide selection of craft beers and good wine. The food served is of a high standard and is good value (Restaurants and cafes on the town square are many times as expensive). We saw this place rated on Trip Advisor and gave it a go as we only wanted a beer and simple plate of food on our first night in Tallinn. We ordered two dark beers (their in house brew) which were excellent and I opted for the beef cutlet whilst my partner selected the salmon with vegetables. Both were generous portions and very tasty. We would recommend you get there before 9 pm as the seats get filled quickly by mostly locals soon after. The decor is basic and trendy (I think to attract the young professional crowd) with old doors hanging from the ceiling and the air conditioning vents and pipes in full view. I noticed a projector and a wide flat screen tv on one wall but these were not in use so not the usual sports bar. The staff were efficient and polite and the food arrived in reasonable time given it was reasonably busy. If you fancy good beer and plate of food away from the usual tourist traps in old Tallin, I would give the Hell Hunt a try, don't be put off...
Read moreA very strange experience. I came in to join a friend for a whisky sour that was not very tasty. When I wanted to pay for me and my friend, the drinks of a man who at some point was sitting next to my friend were included in the bill. Asking the service for clarification, I faced a very aggressive attitude. In the end, I paid for only my friend and me and then the man at the bar said loud very angry: Ask your Irish friend to pay his drinks next time!
I had absolutely nothing to do with it as I had never seen that Irishman before - only talked about five sentences with him before he left, shortly after my arrival. So rude to attack me like that in front of everyone in the bar. The female host came over to support the unacceptable behaviour of the male host. Even better.... I will never again visit this...
