We stayed here twice on the same trip, if we could have changed our booking after the first stay we would have. Although the staff were friendly and helpful the rest did not match up. The room on both occasions was next to the reception and there is no soundproofing so you hear EVERYTHING! From guests arriving and checking in, to late night revellers returning to their rooms in the early hours. We were not bothered about no television in the room but we could certainly hear one in the early hours of our first night from another room. As for our room, it was very narrow between the bed and the walls either side, as a result there was no bedside table or light on one side which was not great. The bed was not very comfortable and although the staff provided a second pillow when I asked, they were way too soft. The bottom sheet did not fit the bed properly and couldn’t be tucked in which meant with tossing and turning it got very creased up. The shower room was ok but tiny! The sink was very small but the shower was a reasonable size. The air vent was full of dust. In terms of cleanliness, on arrival it was of a good standard, the floor in the bedroom and bathroom was not cleaned during our stays though. Bins were emptied and beds straightened, nothing more. My husband found the curtain very annoying as it was very long and he fell over the drapes a couple of times due to the lack of space along the sides of the bed. Breakfast was basic but I had porridge which was fine, with jam, honey or sugar available - word of warning, the pips weren’t removed from the cherries in the jam as I found out when I nearly broke a tooth! My husband found the scrambled eggs over cooked. There was no juice at breakfast on our first stay but there was cranberry juice on our second stay. The coffee was disappointing but there was a reasonable choice of different teas. Overall we would not stay there again as the quality of sleep was so poor and the lack of...
Read moreMyself and my mum stayed for three nights and it was perfect for a quick visit.||The location of this place is definitely a big plus, 10 minute walk from Viru station, 5 minutes from the Old Town Square, near a supermarket and it was easy to find. ||We had the room on the ground floor and the room had its own bathroom, which was small but clean and did the job. There was a kettle in the room with some tea and coffee available. The staff were helpful, explained everything well. Good wifi connection if you need it. The breakfast may have looked small but you could eat as much as you wanted (sandwiches/toast/cereal/fruit) plus tea/coffee. ||On the downside, the room (Alphaville) though nice was directly next to the reception which meant if you're not a light sleeper you can hear people coming in and out all the time, so it can be loud. The room was warm and the window didn't make too much of a difference. There is also no fridge in the room, if you wanted to keep milk for tea or anything else. Although the breakfast was nice, I did notice one morning some of the cutlery wasn't completely clean and same the next day for the mugs.||Upon check-out, again staff were great and allowed us to leave our luggage behind for a few hours before our flight. ||Overall, this is a lovely place to rest your head at the end of a day. Great...
Read moreI had booked early in advance. I got an email from the hotel 6 days before the trip that they can't charge my credit card. I updated another card for their request the very same day. 2 days after that they cancelled our room, claiming they are not able to charge me. I called and the reservation was booked to another quest only 10 minutes after their notice to me and there were no rooms left. I don't believe their explanation, Both of our Visa's (mine and my husband's) are working fine as we speak and we book flights and hotels all the time, there is no limit for foreign charges in our bank account and there is limit to pay. Since they gave the room away so quickly, I can only guess this was done on purpose and our room was given to someone else by plan. Also, they could have called or emailed me when they had trouble about the payment. Now we are in a situation where Tallinn hotel are booked full or are totally expencive or very far away. Thank you for destroying our holiday weekend :( Still searching for a place to stay, since our boat...
