After visiting 62 countries, this must have been the worst one yet.|Information: Booked for 2 nights / 3 days through bookingdotcom, and we communicated few times. Explained to them that I will arrive on the 27th early morning and check out late same day. |As my flight was delayed, I called and informed the receptionist at the hotel with enough time to reschedule my pickup time from the airport shuttle from 3am to 4am, as I arrived and waited, I was left stranded, ended up taking a taxi to the hotel at extra, after waiting for the driver for 30mins who was supposed to me meet at the airport. |And now the fun begins, |Act One/Scene One – And ACTION: |The receptionist was not only oblivious of my arrival but also clueless of my reservations and the change in timing of my arrival. Even though she had it Infront of her. I was then met immediately with an offer to upgrade to smooth everything over as if nothing happened. This followed by an upgrade to a suit, which was already was occupied, by a naked sleeping man, who we happen to walk in on, clearly indicating that she did not check that the room was occupied. Then I was offered a room where the only light working was the bathroom light. When I queried this, I was told there is enough light from the bathroom and soon enough the sun will be up and you do not need much light.|I had to be firm in my decision not to accept this as this was ridiculous and then was taken to a proper room. On arrival to that room, the Ac was not working, and neither was the Wifi, so I had to wait some more for maintenance to arrive this is now has passed the 5am, while waiting I noticed that all the room consumables (Soap/Shampoo) was already half used, and I assume they gave me a room which was not properly reset, not mentioning the toilet seat which had a tissue in the bowl unflushed. The Bath was dirty and rusty.|I was very clear about my discomfort, and I was kept being promised an upgrade to smooth things over, which gives me the perception that the only way they will keep you quiet is to offer you an Upgrade, which is worse than the previous. This all took more time than necessary, as I booked more than my stay as I wanted to make sure my reservations were in place when I arrived on the 27th at 4am . |I asked for the manager which she never showed up, and later received a message from the manager to return and get my upgrade. This was by far the worst organized hotel and staff that I have ever come across. As for a future rating, for fellow travellers to follow I wish to rate this hotel if I could a Minus 100 (-100). |In my opinion, this is a Joke of a hotel and I strongly advise to stay away...
Read moreI stayed 4 days in August with my 15-year-old son and had an excellent experience. As a recreational runner, I found Kenenisa Resort and Sport Training Centre both peaceful and inspiring.||The location is unbeatable—crisp highland air, stunning views, and a quiet setting still close to Addis. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, the hotel is well-organized, and the staff are outstanding. Special thanks to the chef and team for healthy, fresh, beautifully presented meals.||The Operations and Marketing Manager, Samrawit Geta, deserves particular recognition for her professionalism and genuine care—personally arranging a SIM card for my son and ensuring every detail of our stay was smooth. Her efficiency and approachable manner set a high bar for hospitality.||Thanks also to the reception team for their warm welcome, housekeeping for spotless rooms, the kitchen staff for consistently excellent food, the groundskeepers for immaculate surroundings, and the training staff for their expertise and encouragement.||The running track is world-class, with many options for longer, hill or forest runs. There is a functional gym, with available on-site excellent professional coach, sauna, and steam room. The pool was under maintenance during our visit. Minor downsides: inconsistent Wi-Fi, basic gym equipment, slightly old bedding, and few nearby grocery stores.||Overall, this is more than a hotel—it’s a destination for sports, relaxation, and genuine Ethiopian hospitality. I would...
Read moreWe went to the restaurant and had special rea. We also ordered a special pizza for take away. I have never seen a horrible pizza like this. For kenenisa hotel to serve such pizza is undermines the hotel and make it a cheap service represents the hotel as a substandard facility. What is scary and terrorizing was what we faced outside by a security guard who is rude and abusive. As we exit the security guard rudly with a stern voice asked to us to present a receipt for take the away pizza we had on our hand. We sold him we never heard of such demand from a customer with such rude behavior. The waitress came told him we have already paid and tried to explain. The restaurant manager also told him. The guard was rude and insulting, aggressive and verbally abusive. We try to tell him that this is not the way he treats a customer. He was also about to attack us physically. But the manager and other security guard had to push him away. This guard should be fired right on the spot. Such an image for kenenisa hotel is very bad. No apology had been offered. A very sad experience at kenenisa hotel. Simply rude and unprofessional. Not sure how the hotel tolerates sch...
