Hakaniemi Halli is truly a hidden gem in the heart of Helsinki! My visit was an absolute delight, filled with amazing food, unique finds, and a cozy atmosphere that made me feel right at home.
First, I indulged in a classic Finnish laskiaispulla—a soft, fluffy bun filled with whipped cream and almond paste, topped with a dusting of powdered sugar. Paired with a crispy and nutty pistachio baklava, it was a match made in heaven! To wash it down, I grabbed a bottle of Laitilan O.Pom, a refreshing and slightly tangy fruit soda that perfectly complemented my sweet treats.
The fresh produce section was equally impressive! I picked up some organic vegetables in a charming eco-friendly bag, a testament to Hakaniemi Halli’s commitment to quality and sustainability. The selection was fantastic, with colorful, fresh greens and locally sourced goods.
One of the highlights of my visit was discovering the Uusix shop, a treasure trove of handmade and upcycled Finnish crafts. I found a beautifully designed wooden spoon, elegantly wrapped, that showcases the craftsmanship and creativity of Finnish artisans.
Overall, Hakaniemi Halli exceeded all expectations! The combination of delicious food, fresh produce, and unique handmade products makes it a must-visit spot in Helsinki. Whether you’re looking for a tasty treat, quality groceries, or a one-of-a-kind souvenir, this market hall has it all. I can’t...

Having visited several food and market halls before, ie the Melbourne, Tokyo and the Swedish ones, this place felt a little underwhelming for reasons I can't really put into words. It feels like it lacks a certain character and soul, like a paler version of how market halls are supposed to be. It feels slightly bland and sanitised, despite the different stalls found here. Not their fault though, as there were different stalls selling different items, just that don't have too high an expectation of a bustling market hall...
Read moreI had a lively time here in an energetic market. On the ground floor, there are mainly grocery stores. I had cinnamon bun, coffee, and some slices of salmon for eat-in. They all are so delicious! I couldn't help eating too much of salmon here. On the first floor, you'll find many handicraft stores. I found a lovely shop here. Sorry to say, I've forgotten his name, but a man designs some handicrafts and sells them here. Because I decided to get something with Finnish flag during my stay in Finland, I had designed flag postcards (some reindeers are runnig on the blue line of the flag) and a...
