A small corner, Paris themed café. Its' welcoming neon sign shinning from the large glass window catches your eyes even from across the road.
During our visit, we wanted to try the apple pastry but they didn't bake it that day. Instead we tried the almond croissant, pear tart and the chocolate éclair.
The pastries here take some getting used to. The recipes seemed old world and hard to put a finger to but were grainer to the palette.
The almond croissant turned out to be soft, a little on the soggy side. This is not the crispy, aromatic version.
The pear tart was sweet with a heavy tasting custard-like filling. The tart base was wetter than expected.
The chocolate éclair as well was soft. The chocolate filling has a hint of chocolate and cream.
The cappuccino is average and Earl Grey tea blend tasted unusually herbal.
Le Paris has a very different take on French pastries from the norm that we found less enjoyable but service was friendly...
Read moreYeah, we visited this cafe on a Sunday. I felt like there was very minimal effort put into the display of pastries and overall the vibe was just very meh. We were pretty disappointed as the cafes name implies that the experience would be kinda a cool Parisian cafe vibe... the place seemed pretty amateurish to if you ask me, almost like they don't even want customers there? You need to focus on the customer experience and not just rely on the location... you could easily improve on the coffee, presentation and selection of goods, put on French music, and have great service, but nah... 🙄🤦♀️ "I'm not angry I'm just disappointed". Improve yourselves and set yourselves the challenge of becoming the best/coolest cafe in katajanokka and I will consider revisiting, stop taking up the place if you dont even care about the business,...
Read moreI usually ignore "rude service" reviews about a cafe, because one barely has to interact with them, but wow it's bad! Well walking in, it really does smell bad and has a nasty vibe. I was there 1.5 hours before the listed closing time, and they have the door propped open. The server just sneered at me without saying anything until I asked for a cappuccino, and then she said they were closing. At 18:37.. weird time to be closing... With the door open... And I had to wait in the area anyways, so I hopped over to the little stand across the road and had a coffee there. Which I drank within 15 minutes and Le Paris still hadn't closed... Anyways, told her the Google hours were wrong and she just kept sneering. So I can't actually rate the food or drink but I'd guess not good enough...
