First of all when we collected our luggage at the airport the Thompson's reps told us to go out side to get straight on the coach which will take us to our hotel however when walked to the coaches ours which was called tiptoes had not arrived so we was told to wait and the temperature was -23 and we didn't have our snow suits at this point we collected them on our way to the hotel. They were children of all ages stood waiting in there basic clothes . When arriving at what we didn’t know was our hotel because our elf tiptoes was not clear we was then told the rooms may not be ready which was ok because we knew the checking in time was four but our elf went to check then came back on the coach at told us they are ready, so we all got off the buss went to reception and then the manger of the hotel told us that our rooms will not be ready for another three hours, so we went and put our luggage in storage and got changed in to our snow suits in the corridor so we wasn’t waiting around. Then as we were walking back through reception with all our gear on then the elf tiptoes was there with the room keys so then we had to get back undressed and get our luggage up to the rooms. When we got to our rooms the holiday turned from bad to worse. We booked in our local Thompson travel agent back home, we was made to believe we have a family room for up to four people and a twin room. However this was far from what we was given. We got two basic twins and one twin with a arm chair made up in to a bed (pictures below)which was tiny so I then looked on the Thompson website at the different room types and we had been given a twin room with an extra bed for under 12’s i am 21 so I was not going to be comfortable and definitely did not have my own space it was disgraceful there are pictures below of which room we thought we was getting and what we got. We then went to our Thompson rep who told us to wait till everyone is checked in after the welcome meeting. We had the Meeting then went and stood in the queue at the desk from 5 till 7 were they was many others very upset and frustrated people, as some had luggage lost others didn’t know anything about the hotel e.g where meals was served and others where having problems with the trips they have booked. When we final got to talk to the rep steph checked our booking then went to speak to the manger of the hotel who was called...... he was very arrogant and from the start he had no intentions of resolving the situation all they did was move the chair bed and put a very uncomfortable bed at the bottom of the other two beds in the room. This left us In a very cramped room with three adults in a room which was stated in the rooms description for two adults and a child under 12. We was given nothing else’s at all no complimentary drinks no “We will let you know if another room comes available” nothing at all. All they could say is that the hotel is full and there’s nothing the can do which was far from good enough. We paid for five adults and got the accommodation for four adults and a child under 12 all the Thompson’s rep steph kept saying is “we just want you to be comfortable that’s our priority” so putting another bed in a twin room was her solution. When we asked for a refund and action to be taken she may as well called us liars as she said I will need to review the evidence and investigate this left us to have a nightmare of a holiday very shocking customer service considering the price you pay. They place Levi is beautiful but that did not make up for the accommodation to be so...
Read moreLong way from home, took 3 flights to get here. Family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids so for extra comfort we took the optimum family room for 5days. Lovely with 2 floors en-suite with sauna, balcony but it is apart from the main hotel building so won’t have the luxury of room service. Decent breakfast with a variety of cheese, bread and some fruits, but no natural juice. Hotel has good location for tourist activities and always had tour companies present to assist. Lovely view of snow caped pines. Free WiFi.
Phone lines never connected from the apartment, not sure if this is intentional so no one bothers reception with requests.
The house keeping is a group of 4 (four) people who do the minimal/ nothing except tip toe over dirt in a room and only make the bed and replace towels. Hotel will score more if housekeeping was better.
In my opinion, horrible house keeping service and after a long day with kids out in the snow it’s not too much to expect coming back to a clean tidy room. Papers are left littered on the floor, table left untidy, even left over fruit that is tied up was not disposed of by housekeeping. Under the chairs /staircase are left dusty. Having enjoyed services from 4/5 star hotels, I will rate this a 1-star. Will choose any other hotel over this in future.
And yes you have to carry your own luggage. In our case was 4 big boxes, up a steep snow road and up an even steeper iron staircase. After 3 flights and coping with 2 young kids, a bit of hospitality is expected from such a...
