Restaurant Gustavo — Restaurant in Turku sub-region

I visited Gustavo last night with the Amex Dinner for two benefit. Our experience was completely 10/10 .

Atmosphere is great with really nice ambience.

Nice wine selection, although the wine by the glass was slightly on the high price end between 13-19€ for the glass.

Onto the food. Very intelligent cooking. Menu looked so good i didn't know what to choose. To the point that i took two starters and my wife also. I choose the Duck liver with preserved fig with fresh truffle and the Oxtail ravioli with chanterelle sauce. Both dishes 10/10 , so fun to eat. Very very clever cooking. My wife took the Snowcrab hotdog and the truffle Burrata, both delicious.

For main course i had the stuffed quail with the most delicious side of cheesy potatoes and apple sauce, very very nice. Wife had the tagliateli caponata . Super good too.

To finnish we had the souffle which again was super decadent, super fun to eat and really great cooking. All in all, delicious menu with many things that I would like to still try.

Bill at the end came 4 starters, 2 mains , 1 dessert, two glasses of wine and 2 beers at 145€ which is an absolute bargain when comparing to nearby restaurants and after the Amex benefit we paid only 65€ which is a steal. You can certainly spend a lot less by taking a few starters and sharing a pizza for example.

After visiting just about every restaurant in turku, Gustavo is in the top 2 and possibly top 1 in...

The service at Gustavo was really great, and our waitresses were very friendly, but for the price, the food was very mediocre. I ordered the Ortolana pizza, but it was mostly bread and very little toppings. (Some others with us had similar feelings about the pizzas--lots of bread/crust and not so much toppings.) Food was good, however pizza close to burnt and the ibirico pork had way to strong charing markings. This is influences the delicate taste of the meat. Starters/tapas were very nice but personally I would enjoy it more wkthout the asian touches in some dishes. I think if you keep it focused on mediterranean it will be much better. No need to over complicate it. Overall very nice time and food....
