Rica Bar — Restaurant in Turku sub-region

Has a bar counter seating and cocktails. Quite limited selection of cocktails that seem to be really basic. GT with frozen blueberry and a pinecone (hard to tell if it is foodsafe). Very limited selection of whisky and fresh ingridients. They don't even have a sharp knife to cut lime thin, is it a wedge or a slice? They mostly don't care about presentation / garnishes, they don't shake whisky sours well enough to have an acceptable egg white foam head. They ask decent money (11€+ per drink) for sloppy work. Space behind bar is organised poorly and two bartenders have to share one station, being in each other's way. We came from abroad and asked a friend to recommend a good cocktail bar and they suggested this one. Nice vibe, quite full and when we asked for the menu we were told that there were more cocktails available than the ones on the menu so we took some time and decided to choose two pina coladas … To my surprise, the short barman’s answer was “it’s 2023, we don’t make those. If you want pineapple and cream, you can make it in a can nowadays”. We explained we come from a hot country where everyone drinks loads of it and he said “not in Finland”. Now this a central European kind of an addition to the Turku bar scene: Classy, casual, comfy, cute and cordial! The service is excellent, prices modest and both the decor and atmosphere are fabulous! They even have a small little outdoor terrace in the back. Highly recommend!
