“Mange, paie, dégage”: service à la Parisienne au cœur d’Annecy
Two of us arrived early to claim a spot on the half-empty terrace—at least five of the twelve - fourteen tables stayed vacant the entire time. We pushed two tiny bistro tables together, ordered a pair of pricey coffees, and settled in to wait for our friends to order lunch.
Instead of Alpine calm, we got three impatient drive-bys from the staff in the next 25 minutes: “Are they here yet?” “Still not?” Each check-in felt more urgent, even though those empty tables never filled. In Türkiye, we use crushed raw garlic, but I think they use garlic powder here. I loved this version. When I didn't want to bother with garlic at home, I started making this version. I'm so happy to have eaten Turkish eggs in a faraway country and to know how well you make them. The atmosphere is wonderful. The flowing water outside is simply breathtaking. We also have a delicious dish called melemen, which we eat a lot for breakfast. I'm sure you'll find it very appealing. The breakfast we had on hamburger buns was delicious. I'd love to have that again, but the star of the table was the...

Simple ingredient with so much flavor and texture. Would love to come back here again when I'm in town next :) Staying at this nice apartment "Privilodge" right next door. Highly...
