Durant Dupont — Restaurant in Arrondissement of Nanterre

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Café Durand Dupont was truly disappointing. The service we received was absolutely unacceptable. The waitress attending us was incredibly rude from the start. She didn’t take the time to properly open our bottle of wine or even let us see the label or taste it before serving. Her attitude was cold, dismissive, and entirely unprofessional.

What was most upsetting was the stark contrast in how she treated us compared to other customers nearby. While she was polite, smiling, and attentive to French patrons, she barely spoke to us properly, never smiled, and seemed impatient throughout our entire visit. This behavior made us feel singled out and unwelcome, especially since we were there as paying customers like everyone else.

I cannot help but feel that her treatment was influenced by bias, possibly because she sensed we were new to the area or because of our background. The experience felt discriminatory, and it left a very sour impression on what should have been an enjoyable night.

Even at the end, when we requested the bill, the same cold, indifferent attitude persisted—no word of thanks, no courtesy, nothing. I didn’t catch her name, but she was a brunette with a tattoo on her hand, working the night service.

Overall, this visit was extremely disappointing. While I won’t generalize about the whole staff, this particular waitress’s behavior was unacceptable, and I hope the management addresses it. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Café Durand Dupont based on this...

Clearly not a good idea to go there in August. Not enough staff and too many customers. Service was appalling: had to wait for half an hour for our drinks, because they dropped the tray.. drinks were warm instead of cold (not pleasant on a warm August evening) appetisers were left on a tray next to our table, and sat there for so long that we eventually had to help ourselves, main courses did not come together. The second batch we had to help the guy carrying the tray, because the waiter was nowhere to be seen. bottle of wine (ordered at the beginning) came just before desert we had to order water several times, because it never made it on time to the table having realised that the service was beyond poor, the management graciously offered one coffee to compensate for any inconvenience to top it all, had to ask for the bill twice while the restaurant was deserted. food quality was just average.

Good brunch address. We have been here with my sister and our friends 3 weeks ago on sunday. We have made a reservation (recommended) on that friday. The place is very cosy and waiters were quite nice. There is large choice of food regularly refilled. In the 39,50 € price you have unlimited quantityt of food and hot or cold beverages (coffea, black tea, delicious hot chocolate and fresh orange juice). There are warm dishes as well as cold salads and starters. Their fruid salad and cakes were also relatively good. It is good to ask to be seated on the sofa if possible.
