Baryum 56 — Restaurant in Avignon

We visited this cocktail bar and appreciated that they offered only a small selection of drinks – it’s often better to specialize in fewer options and do them really well. The cocktails themselves were tasty, well-made, and the prices were reasonable for what they were.

However, the outdoor seating left a lot to be desired. The tables were not particularly attractive, and the chairs could have used cushions or something more comfortable to sit on. I would also suggest placing the tables further apart to create a better design and atmosphere. The menus were simply left lying on the tables, which didn’t give a great impression.

The indoor tables looked nicer, but it was extremely stuffy inside, making it impossible to sit there comfortably.

As for the service, there were two waiters: one was friendly and even asked how we liked our drinks, but the other seemed almost annoyed by our presence. When it came time to pay, I felt like I had to convince him to let me leave a tip – which I did only because of the other, friendly waiter.

We have lived in France for nearly 2 months, and tho we Love it, we have found that finding a Great classic cocktail extremely difficult…until tonight!!! Adrian & Caroline have created Baryrum & have done an exquisite job !!! Amazing Martini & extremely perfect service. You might want to make reservations as when things get busy, I’m sure this place will be incredibly packed but it’s worth a stop & support. J’ai participé à un atelier d’initiation à la mixologie animé par Adrien et Caroline au Baryum 56, et l’expérience a été exceptionnelle. Nous avons commencé par une présentation de leurs meilleurs alcools, dont la grande majorité sont français, certains très originaux qui stimulent immédiatement l’imagination et le palais.

Caroline nous a ensuite expliqué le rôle du shaker et appris à nous en servir, avant de nous lancer dans la réalisation d’un premier cocktail sans alcool. Loin d’être en retrait, ce cocktail s’est révélé aussi savoureux qu’un cocktail classique.

Puis nous avons préparé un cocktail avec alcool, choisi parmi leur carte, et c’était une nouvelle réussite. Enfin, pour le troisième, chacun a pu créer son propre cocktail guidé par leurs conseils avisés. Pour ma part, j’ai opté pour des produits originaux (gin à l’olive, liqueur de concombre, poivre de Kampot…) et le résultat a dépassé mes attentes.

En tant que personne plutôt timide, j’ai particulièrement apprécié l’accueil chaleureux, le sourire et la bienveillance d’Adrien et Caroline, qui mettent tout le monde à l’aise. Le groupe était également très agréable, ce qui a contribué à la belle ambiance de l’atelier.
