Crêperie La Cloche — Restaurant in Avranches

My wife and I saw this place after a long walk and decided to stop by for lunch. Since the seats on the ground floor were occupied, I went to the stairs to see if there were any tables available on the second floor, since we wanted to have lunch in a cafe, not outside. When I was standing at the stairs, I turned my head back and saw the shocked face of my wife, who was standing next to the waiter and heard the bartender (or cook) and the waiter rudely shouting after me to stop, but I did not hear it. Then the waiter started rudely telling us that we should say hello and order food first, and only then can we see the seats. It was so rude and arrogant that the mood was ruined, the wife replied that she did not want to stay in the cafe, and the waiter just as rudely said goodbye. This is the first time we have encountered such a terrible attitude in France, I do not advise you to come here and spoil the mood because of rude, unprofessional people who are just...

I almost didn’t go because some of these reviews make it seem like an unfriendly place and that is very far from true. We went to the downstairs counter said Bonjour and asked if it was still time for lunch service (since we were in that in between time). They invited us to go upstairs where we were served at table by a very busy but very nice server. We had the Océane galette which was scallops with a lightly curry cream sauce and sautéed leeks. I had a lovely amber beer from La Goudale. We bought three scoops of ice cream. The waiter didn't care at all and brought them all separately, so we would pay a much higher price than it was written for three scoops of ice cream. When we tried to talk to them politely about this, the owner instantly started yelling at us and we received an invitation to start a physical fight against the staff. The owner also actually tried to smack my friend in the face too. Worst experience ever, a ruined holiday at Mont St. Michel and an unbelievably rude and agressive service.
