Lunch moment in Le Tripot. We ordered one menu (on lunch time, ~19€) and salad portion (13,5€). Lunch menu contained starter, main course and dessert. I selected marinated clams, omelette (ham and cheese) and ice cream. Clams portion for a starter was very nice and tasty. Omelette was also simple and very good. And of course ice cream was as it always is, very good. Only salad was a little bit odd, as there was big and weirdly creamy like of mozzarella in the middle that tasted and felt weird in the mouth. Still the portion was very big so that was a very positive thing. We also had one bottle of local cider (0,75l 14€) that was pretty high cost. Customer service was very friendly and they have also menu written in English too. Lunch menu was very nice, so I would recommend that for everyone!

Service was friendly, they brang us water for our dog and the cashier was also very friendly even it was quite crowded. We ordered the egg omlette with ham and cheese. This was okay. It could have been more cooked. The fries did not taste good to us because they were not crispy. The salad was fresh, with a moustard dressing I guess. Unfortunately the crèpe with chocolate and caramel was in our opinion really not tasty. The sauce was very special.

I’d say what you pay for here is fair for what you get when compared to many other overpriced restaurants and stalls in Mont Saint-Michel. If you really do need something to eat, then I’d recommend Le Tripot - but don’t expect anything too grand or elegant. The service was decent but unfortunately one of our plates didn’t come out the best, but those kind of mistakes is understandable I guess.

If you wish a cheap but rude service, this is your place. Personally, I’d prefer respect or at the bare minimum some good manners. The owner is quite rude and also seems to look down on people who come to checkout the restaurant and not actually sit and eat a full paying meal. Business is business, indeed, but what happened to the “the customer is always right”? Sending customers away because they come back later doesn’t look like making good business to me. Without forgetting that they started badmouthing us in French, not knowing we speak French too. Mind you, we were polite when we came in, earlier we had to leave because our little one wanted to eat burgers and she wanted to start a tantrum. We left to check out all the restaurants to show our child that the one previously was the best one we saw, regarding prices. So when we came back, the lady saw us and instantly made a passive aggressive remark about how we had the guts to come back, in French, that is. And when we tried explaining why we left, she started shooing us, laughing with her friend, and telling us we can’t come no more (while there was clearly an empty table there). In any case, i was surprised that it hurt the owner so much that we left, it was almost sweet, but of course none the less very rude. Overall: cheap food (if you’re on a short budget) cocky owner (to deal with, if you know how to keep your cool) (and you can clearly guess her attitude with her comebacks to 1 star ratings) and tight tables (where you shouldn’t be claustrophobic haha)

-1 the old lady behind the counter was not welcoming unlike the younger guy who was engaging

-1 we were served microwaved crepe and not a freshly made one

-1 their grand creme coffee tastes awful for €4.5

-1 there were so many flies inside!

EDIT: the owners replied to my review but, instead of apologizing, discredited my observations. First, you should be thankful that I used the word “old” instead of “miserable”, “impolite”, “cold”. She was really not into customer service or engagement and so is your colleague who replies to google review. Untrained and unknowledgeable. Second, we were really served microwaved crepe. I saw the crepe placed inside the microwave and heard it “ding” when it finished. Please don’t deny. Third, i used to be a barista and i know the taste of fresh beans, well calibrated coffee machine, and skilled barista texturing the milk which was lacking in your store. Lastly, if flies and mosquitoes invaded Mont St Michel, why did they all went to your store and not in other restaurants? We ate in other creperie and there were no flies. Please clean properly instead of discrediting google...

We went to the restaurant today. We were a party of four. We were seated upstairs and the waiter came over twice in quick succession to ask us if we were ready. Three of us wanted to eat, one of us only wanted a beer. When we ordered, we were told that everyone had to eat. I asked if it was okay if three of us ate and one just had a beer. He went to ask his manager, and returned to tell us that it was not possible. This makes absolutely no sense at all. There were four of us, at a table for four. A party of three would have taken up the same amount of space - and spent less money. This left a very bad impression of Normandy for my in-laws, visiting France for the first time.

Edit: to respond to the establishment. We were four people. Two of us ordered galettes, one of us ordered a crepe, and all four of us ordered drinks. We were told by our server that we couldn't order galettes and crepes at the same time (which is absurd). As I said before, we were at a table for four. We ordered three meals and four drinks, which is more than a table of three might have ordered. Your logic...
