Café du Théatre — Restaurant in Bayonne

Lovely location, and the drinks were fine, but the food was appalling and poor service.

We ordered a squid risotto that was inedible - it had the consistency of dried porridge. We also ordered two steaks, one medium rare, one medium, but both so tough we could only eat less than half before giving up. One of our children had kids chicken nuggets and chips which was ok - bravo!

The guest next to us ordered an omelette, and was visibly and quite vocally disappointed with his food.

Service was a bit unfriendly and brisk - in hindsight I realised they were probably aware of the poor quality of the food and so avoided being too friendly. What a shame, as it could be a great place.

This is a cute little restaurant right by the city hall and concert space. We ate here because of it's close proximity right after a concert. Sit upstairs if they will let you because it has a really charming view of the vicinity. They catered well to vegitarian diets and the food was quite good!
