After two weeks of backpacking , I was ready for a real meal. I stumbled upon this gem. I am not vegan , but am vegetarian so this restaurant appealed to me , however I recommend it for anyone with any diet. The flavors are incredible!!!! I had the chef's special creation which was eggplant stuffed with smoked ricotta (I'm guessing somehow made with cashews but tasted just like cheese ). The sauce was amazing and the chef even brought me out some extra sauce to dip my bread in. I then had the creme brulee for desserts which is also made in house. It was incredible too. .. made with coconut cream and a hint of lime. The chef's said they make a new dish every week , and I am here for 5 days ... so I will be back for the next creation ! Highly recommend to anyone , even if you aren't vegan... the flavors are just magical combinations. They also use fresh and local...
Read moreWe stopped there to grab a nutritious lunch for the first time and as a vegan myself I couldn’t be happier with the service provided on behalf of the kind and gentle staff around us. The food was delicious, the flavors were SO GOOD that even my taste buds felt GRATEFUL!! The seasonings, plating, aromas of the dishes presented: LOVELY!!
It is really frustrating as an animal rights activist not to find any other choice but to eat a very sad looking salad in some random stop and starve while your non-vegan family is challenging your moral beliefs, so that’s why:
THIS IS YOUR SANCTUARY, if you are a vegan tourist that wants take a break and be saved from meat-eating hostility, I really mean it!!

Read more100 % vegan, organic, local, creative, sweet little restaurant. We loved the food which is creative, mostly organic and home-made. The owners are lovely animal rights activists and the location is pleasant. Our desert was the veganised Gâteau Basque: a MUST!!! So good, that we ordered another Gâteau Basque to bring to my (non-vegan) Basque family. They loved it and could see no difference to the non-vegan original version. They were delighted by the excellent taste and the fact that the cake is not too sweet. The owners cook and serve themselves, which gives an opportunity to get in touch and speak about animal rights issues in the Pays Basque and elsewhere. All in all a very pleasant experience which is the reason why we came back a couple of times and will again in the future.
