My partner and I had a wonderful dining experience at the lovely Fridas restaurant on Friday whilst visiting Bordeaux. From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed by the wonderful warm and smiley staff.

The decor is simultaneously fresh, stylish and unique whilst leaning sympathetically into the beautiful old building and surroundings. This perfectly mirrors the dynamic and youthful vibe found within the cobbles streets of old downtown Bordeaux.

The service throughout dinner was excellent, the waiting staff are very attentive and considerate, we were made to feel very special.

There is an extensive wine list to suit a range of budgets with a very knowledgeable sommelier able to guide you in your choices in a non stuffy manner ;) the cocktails also looked fabulous!

We opted for the discovery menu and we're not disappointed, every dish was delicious! We especially enjoyed the mushroom dish.

We shall definitely be returning soon and next time I shall start with...

It was one of the best dinners we had in Bordeaux, if not the best (that was only because we’d been to another Michelin 1-star restaurant). But for the price we paid we were quite positively surprised by the quality of food and the choice of wine at Frida. Service was wonderful, not over the top, but just enough to make us feel valued. The vibe was good; there was an indoor and a patio sections depending on what one likes. We sat at the quiet corner indoor and never felt neglected whatsoever. All the dishes we ordered were immaculately presented and the taste was just fabulous! Unlike many modern French restaurants that try to add elements of fusion and superfluous innovations these days, the chefs at Frida just had the seemingly ordinary dishes but a magical touch to elevate our taste buds to a new level with the fresh ingredients. Very good...

I would strongly suggest staying away from this place. We ordered a serving of the chicken panko with curry marinate and I could not believe that they actually served it RAW. And I dont mean just a little bit raw, I mean the full chicken tender was raw. It happened to be dark and we were sitting outside so I only noticed after the third chicken tender, so I cannot confirm if the ones I ate before hand were also raw. Needless to say, my partner and I lost our appetite immediately after and left all our remaining food. I believe that we should not have been charged for any of the food considering we left majority of it after the incident but the restaurant manager thought differently. All in all, honestly to all tourists reading this, stay away or at the very least make sure to check your chicken...

We had a menu tasting, and it was absolutely fantastic! Every dish was a true delight. There were just a couple of small issues worth mentioning. The service was a bit slow, and we had to switch tables midway through dinner because the terrace closes at 10 p.m. Unfortunately, we weren't informed about this when we booked, and since we love enjoying summer nights outdoors, we might have made a different choice if we'd known. That said, the food and cocktails were truly exceptional, I had a great time and will definitely be coming back!
