La Fine Bouche was our first dinner here in Bordeaux. The restaurant exceeded all of our expectations, and delighted us at every course. All of the service at the restaurant was so warm, attentive, and thoughtful. We spoke to the owner who takes great pride in his restaurant. The server explained every dish to us, with great care and passion, explaining ingredients. The restaurant strikes a great balance of casualness, but sophistication! People were dressed casually, but all seemed to be here to enjoy a slow evening of dining and drinking with friends. The restaurant is tucked away on a quite street by a cathedral, a nice break from some of the busier and noisier streets.
We shared a bottle of Chablis, which paired perfectly with the 6 courses, as well as the additional courses of amuse bouches. Each dish was balanced, had elements of indian spices, fresh herbs, and classic French technique. The slow cooked langoustines were memorable, also the fish of the evening was a highlight. Lots of "wow" moments through out the courses!! Deserts were sublime, love the herbal ice cream element, it was a sensation of freshness.
The dinner took us on a journey, and we stayed for almost four hours. The 2 dessert courses were sublime, and light. A perfect way to end the evening. Service is warm, not rushed, which we appreciated.
We would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a special evening to try food that has been executed at the top level! The restaurant was full, but also not too busy, noise level perfect.
Thank you La Fine Bouche for making our first night in Bordeaux and absolute pleasure and wonderful surprise! The highest compliments to you...
Read moreDisappointing Experience at La Fine Bouche – Unacceptable Rudeness My recent visit to La Fine Bouche in Bordeaux was unfortunately ruined by the exceptionally rude staff. While I was excited to try the food, the moment we arrived, we were met with unnecessary hostility. We arrived about five minutes before our reservation, which is something I often do to ensure I'm on time. Instead of a simple "We're not quite ready yet," a female server immediately made a huge, dramatic scene. She reacted by shaking her head and speaking rapidly and forcefully in French with a clearly rude and condescending tone. Even though I don't speak fluent French, the body language and sheer theatrics conveyed her displeasure in a way that was completely unprofessional and unwarranted. She acted as if we had committed a grave offense by arriving slightly early. This initial poor attitude was unfortunately followed by a very slow pace of service throughout the meal.We opted for thr 4 course tasting menu and it took nearly two and a half hours. I cannot recommend a restaurant where the service is this arrogant and unwelcoming. Save your money and time for one of the many other wonderful establishments in Bordeaux that actually appreciate your business. Rating: 1/5 (Solely for the location, as the staff...

I had dinner here in late May 2022 and was treated to an incredible experience.
I found the restaurant through filtering for outdoor seating, highly rated French cuisine around St. Michel district. La Fine Bouche had among the highest ratings I could find and I can see why.
Food is what I would describe as modern French cooking using fresh local ingredients and not afraid of using Asian elements and other influences. The four course dinner ended up being seven part dinner. After each dish I eagerly anticipated the next. The food was served in warm or cooled dishes. The smells from each dish was divine. The textures played on the mouth very harmoniously. The accompanying wine pairings well chosen to give a slight contrast to each course.
The staff at La Fine Bouche was great. Everyone loved their roles and showed passion towards the food. Beautiful clean interior although I spent the whole time outside on a beautiful spring evening. Passing people would take photos of the building outside the door of the restaurant.
Google says closed at 9 pm but that was clearly not the case as the Bordelais eat dinner late.
Recommend highly except for those looking for American portions or a rigid interpretation of...
