I was quite disappointed with my experience at Nom d'Une Crêpe. The ambience is passable, but nothing special. The staff were not particularly friendly, rather neutral. The place feels like a tourist trap.
I had the worst crêpe I've ever eaten in Bordeaux. The batter was tasteless. We ordered two crêpes: the first, "Mélodie", was supposed to contain apple melted in butter, salted butter caramel, whipped cream, and grilled almonds. We were lucky if there was 1/6 of an apple in the filling. The caramel tasted store-bought, and the almonds were non-existent.
The other crêpe, "Polo", which was advertised to have hot homemade chocolate and coconut, was equally disappointing. The chocolate was definitely not homemade and didn’t even taste like chocolate, while the coconut had a soapy flavour.
Both crêpes were completely flavourless and lacking in filling.
At the table next to ours, I noticed a man looking visibly disappointed when his crêpe arrived. It was so bad that the waitress returned to ask if everything was alright.
Overall, this was a deeply unsatisfactory experience, and I would not recommend this...
Read moreThe food was delicious but I had to remove some stars as we were inexplicably seated right next to the toilet when we arrived just at they opened and the restaurant was almost empty. The waiter was nice and accommodating in that he took a custom order (there’s not many vegetarian options) . I was a bit annoyed when I looked at my receipt after paying (they didn’t provide an itemised bill before giving me the card machine) that my vegetarian galette with goats cheese, walnuts, honey and apple was charged on the “supreme” menu whos menu items all include more expensive ingredients like duck. As well as that my mothers meal was charged on the “gourmet” menu even though it was items from the classic. I think they took advantage of us being...
Read moreWe came for lunch and were disappointed.food was rather plain despite all the ingredients on offer. The worst part by far was the delay in service, the waitress was very friendly and polite and doing her best but they are dreadfully understaffed.it took two hours of which more than 30mins was just waiting for dessert while our little boy was getting very restless.
Do not sit in the back, the toilets are there. They get very busy and the tables are far too close to them. I would have refused the table if sat as close as some people were...
