If you’re looking to have the kind of meal that makes you want to slap the chef and walk out on the check, this is the place for you. It is an abomination that this food is served in France at all. You will essentially be paying 19€ for a mediocre cup of coffee and barely drinkable orange juice because the rest of the “brunch” offer is essentially inedible. They do get credit for cooking an egg in a way which prior to I couldn’t imagine possible yet they pulled off this incredible feat of culinary magic.. thoroughly hard boiled in the middle and entirely soft and runny on the outside.. bravo! The biscuit was salty and stale, the pancakes are flavorless and served without any sauce or syrup to wake them up from their coma, the potatoes are clearly a day old and I nearly broke my tooth on the salt they are coated in. Everything called “food” seemed as if it was cooked the day before and randomly reheated or simply served. My brother ordered the other brunch option which comes with a hummus on bread and it was clearly hard at the edges and had been spread and assembled the day prior. In essence, this was one of, if not the most, disappointing meals I’ve ever had anywhere. The staff were lovely and kind but the food preparation leaves me wishing I could leave negative stars. From the inside, it’s clear they specialize in pour over coffee and espresso. Stick to that people because whatever the hell I just ate, it should not be served to dogs much...
Read moreI wish I could write a better review, because the staff was incredibly quick and friendly.
My coffee (flat white) had beautiful latte art, but was unfortunately so hot that the milk proteins were completely denatured, giving it the dreaded "boiled milk" taste. I'm not sure if this was an accident by the barista or if it is actually supposed to be that way, because this has happened to me in France more than once.
I ordered the small brunch with poached eggs. Unfortunately the eggs were cooked all the way through and not runny any more. The sauce hollandaise was also slightly broken. The placement of the avocado chunks on top of the eggs felt a bit random to me. Overall the food was okay at best, and it felt like the individual ingredients didn't wanna come together quite right.
I paid 19€ for the brunch including coffee, orange juice, and one pain au chocolat (that was very dense and oily). The atmosphere and staff were very nice, and the biggest room for improvement I see is the quality of the food (it looks better...
Read moreI've been coming to Café Verde Nero for years and it's consistently one of the best coffee shops in the city. The coffee is always freshly roasted and expertly brewed, with a wide selection of single-origin beans and creative specialty drinks. But what really sets Café Verde Nero apart is their food. In addition to their exceptional coffee, they serve delicious brunch and lunch dishes. Their avocado toast is to die for, and their quiche is flaky, rich, and bursting with flavor. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with plenty of comfortable seating and a charming patio for when the weather is nice. What really makes Café Verde Nero special though is the wonderful staff and waitresses. They are all so friendly, attentive, and lovely - always greeting customers with a smile and making sure everyone has a great experience. Whether I'm grabbing a quick bite or meeting a friend, Café Verde Nero is always my go-to spot. I can't recommend it...
