Affordable crepes in the center of Carcassonne.
Some small things could be better though which by adding them up leave you with mixed up feelings.
There is no ambiance music, it's a small restaurant so you tend to be able to hear everyone's conversation. You feel a lack of cosiness and privacy
The toilet door was wide open and leads directly to clients' tables. The waiter didn't seem much troubled about it. After few minutes some customers decided to close it themselves.
The waiter was maybe under the weather, firstly he simply forgot that he already took the order of a young couple minutes before... I guess it can happen, but it wasn't crowded at all, we were just few tables. Secondly he wasn't the most welcoming character, so I'm questioning myself, either it was really a bad day or he doesn't like his job.
Last but not least, the food. The crepe we wanted wasn't available (salmon) for an odd reason; supposedly not of the expected quality. Which would be understandable if the fish was delivered fresh, but for smoked salmon, I find it hard to believe. Besides that, savory crêpes were ok, but they really lacked seasoning, and there was no salt nor pepper on the tables to rectify them. Sweet crêpes were good however.

Read moreWe took another reviewers advice, and reserved. (The website appears to be gone.) We got a very quick response from Christophe, and when we presented ourselves for lunch, he very personably welcomed us and made us feel like old friends of the house. We intend to go back. As one would hope in France, the sauces are distinguished and delicious. This is a very busy place for lunch, with many, many locals eating here on weekdays. Christophe's English is excellent, but like many French in the tourist industry he encourages you to do your best en Français. Although we haven't checked out all 289 restaurants in Carcassonne, we've eaten in enough in Languedoc to know that this is one of the most innovative and best: Not...
Read moreThis restaurant is brilliant. The best galettes and crépes! We had cider with ours and a calvados to finish to keep on an apple theme. The waiter was very friendly as was the proprietor. They were both very good with children. We had been in Carcassonne for two weeks and were dismayed that they were closed when we got here, presumably for their own holidays. They reopened though just in time! We discovered though that they are so popular it is a very good idea to book, especially for lunch as they are only open for a short amount of time. We went at lunch and found them booked up so we booked for the following evening and weren’t disappointed! Delicious.....and you have to mention the salad coming in it’s only basket made out of a crispy...
