Vibes Restaurant — Restaurant in Carcassonne

Such a cute little bistro on the square in Carcassonne. I had the chicken agre doux (sweet and sour). The chef is from Tonga and specializes in Polynesian food. It was delicious and the young waiter was kind and thoughtful. Recommended the local wine which was delicious. There's lots of choices in the square, this one is quietly laid back and well...

Passés vers 12h15 dans ce charmant établissement avec mon compagnon, nous avions une envie folle… de transgresser les règles : lui une bière, moi un café. Grave erreur.

Le serveur, très cordial au demeurant, nous annonce que les cafés sont formellement interdits entre midi et 14h. La consigne du patron, paraît-il. Je demande où est ce fameux patron pour lui poser la question. Réponse : “il n’est pas là”. Deux minutes plus tard, plot twist : le patron, c’était lui. Bluffant.

Je tente une dernière approche : “Et si je prends un repas, j’ai droit à mon café ?”. Visiblement, la logique horaire du café ne s’applique qu’à certaines conditions mystérieuses que seul ce lieu semble maîtriser.

Un bel exemple de service absurde digne d’un sketch.
