Crêperie L'Olympia — Restaurant in Cognac

Arrogant and snooty staff. Restaurant has a smell when you enter especially when they are cooking fish since the kitchen is open and right in the middle of the restaurant so it definitely lacks in terms of restaurant aestehtics, ventilation and experience. Another issue is it closes after lunch(after 2 and reopens at 7) and it's almost impossible to get a reservation especially if you don't speak French well. Even if the restaurant was empty and had just reopened for dinner, they refused to give us a table, and did not even recommend we wait, even when it was our second time trying to get a table. we were told that reservation was an obligation, hahah 😆 like this was a michelin star restaurant haha! if you really think reservations are an obligation then make a proper website with an automatic reservation system so people can book through it without wasting their time. I would rather save my money and go somewhere else where the customers are treated with respect. unfortunately they are probably the only proper creperie in cognac, but fortunately not the only creperie in France :)

Personnel arrogant et prétentieux. le restaurant a une odeur quand vous entrez, surtout quand ils cuisinent du poisson puisque la cuisine est ouverte et en plein milieu du restaurant, donc ça manque définitivement en termes d'esthétique et d'expérience du restaurant. autre problème, il ferme après le déjeuner (après 2 heures et rouvre à 7 heures) et il est presque impossible d'obtenir une réservation, surtout si vous ne parlez pas bien le français. Même si le restaurant était vide et venait de rouvrir pour le dîner, ils ont refusé de nous donner une table et ne nous ont même pas recommandé d'attendre, même lorsque c'était la deuxième fois que nous essayions d'avoir une table. on nous a dit que la réservation était une obligation, hahah 😆 comme si c'était un restaurant étoilé au guide Michelin haha! si vous pensez vraiment que les réservations sont une obligation, créez un site Web approprié avec un système de réservation automatique afin que les gens puissent réserver sans perdre leur temps. Je préfère économiser mon argent et aller ailleurs où les clients sont traités avec respect. malheureusement c'est probablement la seule crêperie à cognac, mais heureusement pas la seule crêperie...

We absolutely adore Creperie L’Olympia. This restaurant takes crepes to another level, with innovative recipes beautifully executed. We discovered it last summer and planned this summer’s holiday so we could be sure to visit again. Had two amazing meals there this September. The food is superb, the staff all excellent, friendly, welcoming and highly professional. Our French is not good but everyone there was so friendly and accommodating.
