We went here on weekend for breakfast. I just had to post a review because someone said the person working there was racist toward Asians but I didn’t feel that way (I’m Asian) - they are just grumpy with no room for friendly conversations or attention when they are busy. When we went in, we were actually told to go away but we don’t speak French and just stood there waiting to be served. We sat down and waited for a long time, just ordered two coffee and two croissants. The coffee served with hot milk tasted delicious with the tasty croissant!! We loved it. We had a lot of time to observe things happening inside the cafe and I can understand the sentiment of those who find the staff here rude. They were indeed not overly friendly especially when people made troublesome requests in English (like irregular orders or they took time because of the language barrier) but I would say overall the cafe is really nice and we would love to...
Read moreA vintage looking place with lots of antique items displayed, either on the walls or furniture. Lots of posters depicting characters from various periods of time and even a wedding photo of the owners. The cakes and croissants, freshly baked, were decent, nothing I haven't tried before. The lemon tart was a touch too sour, and even though I enjoyed it at first, I didn't finish it. The pain au chocolat was crunchy and buttery, but lots of dough and little chocolate. Not that I have a problem with that, I'm a fan. I really enjoyed the subtle taste of the sencha Japan green tea and I recommend it. They don't take reservations, you just have to wait. Unfortunately, even though the place is nostalgic, it isn't as cozy. The bathroom was clean at the time, even though it smelled funky. I wouldn't say it's a place that I'd want to return to but it's an experience once, if...
Read moreIf you want to stop for a coffee and experience something completely different, make sure to go in. They don’t have a professional coffee machine; it’s a traditional setup. The interior feels like it’s straight out of a movie, and the atmosphere is quite surprising. However, if you don’t have patience, this place might not be for you. But I recommend it to anyone who enjoys observing and experiencing something new while sightseeing. The staff is quite elderly, which adds to the unique atmosphere. I stopped there with a friend for coffee. The coffee was good, and we had traditional macarons, which were tasty. Of course, I didn’t get the one I ordered, but that just added to the whole interesting visit. I highly recommend it, but again, if you’re not patient, don’t go in, as I saw some people leave. Go if you’re curious about the experience and want to take a break from...
