Beautiful food and worth the wait. Let's be clear, having to wait is a distinct possibility at lunchtimes in what seems to be the most popular restaurant in all of Colmar, at least as far as tourists go. It's site right next to Saint Martins is a prime location, but Jupiler doesn't rely on its position to suck in the unwary: the food is truly a joy, whether perfectly cooked duck or steak, or enticing and filling salads.
The downside to this popularity is, of course, the need to be patient at the busy (manic) times. However, the efficient staff seem adept at performing three jobs at once and making sure everyone knows they haven't been forgotten. And you'll never receive a cold dish (unless it's meant to be!) or find that one member of your party has to sit twiddling their thumbs whilst everyone else has begun their meals.
Pricewise, a meal for the adults and one child, with a round of soft drinks for all, cost €76, which is very much acceptable, especially given the quality.
I would heartily recommend and I hope I'll have the opportunity to return for what would be a fourth visit....

This is one of the few restaurants that is open early, and I was surrounded by old men reading newspapers accompanied by their impeccably dressed wifes. While I don't know what they were saying I imagine the men were talking about their earlier days and contrasting them to the current events in the newspapers. Of course the service was polite and prompt, and the food was good, but forget about those things, go simply to enjoy...
Read moreI appreciate that they found us a table to eat fast for our big family but they asked us to drink something until they can take our order after 30 mins. The water in my tea was tasting salty not like the other cup of teas we ordered and when I inform the waiter she told me ( that’s impossible!) when I insisted she brought me another cup of water not even changed my tea which I didn’t drink from the first place. We asked to remove the beckon from the omlate and fries dishes but she refused saying that the dishes is already prepared and eventually we ended up ordering 2 dishes for each one with eggs and salad and the other is French fries !! Food tasted regular and wouldn’t recommend this place for a...
