Worst experience in the Alsacia region The staff attitude was awful and most disrespectful I saw! They did not leave us to talk on the phone mentioning that it gets crazy there with all the people: it was only us and the 2 girls from the counter; they were keep insisting with the same text to everyone about the organic coffee and that they only support women. One of them was trying to sell us an organic cake, I asked for some cookies, she said she does not have cookies even though I saw some in the fridge and then she sold cookies to someone else 😅 At another table there were other tourists with children and they insisted that everyone has to order a drink even though the kids wanted something different they did not have on the menu (like 2-3 options). After 40 minutes since the moment we entered there one of the ladies came to tell us in a very aggresive way that if we don’t want something else we should go because “you cannot stay 2 hours here for only one drink, especially when it’s that busy”; they still had free tables, we actually stayed only 40 minutes right from the moment we entered and we still had coffee to drink…and in the end when they asked if we liked everything I told them that I did not like their attitude against their clients and the lady who came to take us out said it’s ok cause same for them, they also don’t like the people; then why do you work in a place where people are coming, you interract...
Read moreThe owner (MaDam) is the very definition of analretentive!
Despite the rain and only a few customers, she didn’t want to let us sit down because we had a baby and our stroller was going to take up too much room!? We convinced her to allow the baby by folding our stroller down into a car seat. However, we had to put our baby on the floor bc she thought the car seat wasn’t appropriate to rest on a chair!?
Next we ordered our coffee. I tried to order a frappe but she informed me it was too cold out for frappes!? So I ordered a latte…it was just ok despite her high and mighty speech about sourcing the organic beans from Honduras.
My phone was dead so I asked if I could plug my phone into an outlet (like any other coffee shop) but like the baby and rain, MaDam wasn’t going to cut us a break there either. No charging!
After finishing our drinks we waited 10 minutes as she talked on the phone (loudly). Finally I just had to interrupt her so we could get out of there. Of course she charged us extra for using an “American” credit card!?
The best was as we’re leaving my wife asked to throw out a wrapper from a baby cracker…MaDam pointed across the street to a waste basket lol.
My wife and I couldn’t stop laughing after we left, so at least it wasn’t a total loss of time. Ok coffee, TERRIBLE customer service. If you need a laugh, go check out MaDam...
Read moreExcellent coffee alert!! Travelling with friends whom I met at a Paris craft coffee café a few years ago, we came to explore Colmar. We were surprised not to find anything we considered decent coffee until we passed this shop after hours and saw La Marzocco (if you know, you know) through the window. Voilà. Returning the next day (and again later), we met the charming owners and enjoyed perfectly crafted espressos and flat whites. If you love coffee, GO HERE. Also note that the pastries they have are 1000X better than the supposedly good patisserie in Colmar. We hope to see the owners at Paris’ Le Peloton Café...
