Started off badly.I’m British Chinese and getting an English speaker was difficult. Once I did I ordered food that needed no cooking as I hadn’t eaten all day. Charcuterie board and tartare. I ordered a bottle of wine to give good business to this place too. My food was given to another customer and was with no food for 40 min. No ham. No cheese. Nothing.

I offered to leave as I felt mistreated. But the lady server stepped up and corrected all previous mistakes. I’ve been on travels for 20 days now (France Germany Italy Sweden Switzerland and Denmark ) and this was the worst start to dinner. But they made up for it . Situated on the corner of a market square in the wonderful old town of Fontainebleau, this restaurant specialises in meat dishes using seasonal ingredients.

My daughter and I received wonderful advice on what to choose from the available cuts, and accompanying vegetables and sauces. We were seated outside, and enjoyed being situated close to the square in order to feel the ambience. When a small rain shower arrived, we were immediately welcomed to a new table under cover.

What a find! Really interesting menu with wide selection of meat options, we had the lunch set menu of the day which was very reasonably priced and delicious. Good ingredients from all over the world, chatting to the manager it was clear how much thought and care went into sourcing the produce.
