Absinthe bar — Restaurant in Grasse

If you're considering a visit to the Absinthe bar in Antibes, do yourself a favor and skip it. Me and three friends waited patiently in line for 40 minutes, excited to finally check out this place. But as soon as we stepped inside, we were immediately kicked out by a grumpy older woman who clearly has no business working in hospitality. We didn’t even have time to glance at the drink menu, let alone do anything that could justify being thrown out. There was no explanation, no reason – just pure hostility. It felt like we were being punished for… existing? After reading through other reviews, it’s clear we’re not the only ones this has happened to. Seems like this isn’t a one-off bad day – it’s a recurring theme. How does someone like this still have a job dealing with customers? Completely ruined our evening, and left a bad taste before we even got to taste anything. Save your time and your money – there are plenty of better places in Antibes that actually appreciate...

We encountered the rudest older woman who is ruining what could be a wonderful bar with her nasty attitude. I pity the staff who work for her. Myself and my husband were on vacation and stopped into this bar having heard the fantastic piano man. There were 2 empty tables with seats available but the rude woman insisted on pushing a large group of young people along a bench to make room for us to squeeze in with them! as she wanted to keep the tables free. We are a couple in our 40s, on holidays. Absolutely pathetic!

We left, disappointed and having wasted a journey which was then spoiled by her sheer lack of customer service and consideration. The really nice guy at the door apologised but it wasn't his fault. Every other bar we visited in Antibes was 100% friendlier, welcoming and accommodating....

Hardly met a waitress in my life that was that unfriendly and grumpy... We were looking at which table to sit, since the location is pretty tiny. She seemed to be annoyed already. We just sat down when she asked what we want to drink. We said: "2min please to have a look at the absynthe menu". After 1min she was back at the table asking again... We told her we need another minute, so she was back after a few seconds pushing us for a decision. We were not familiar with absynthe so we asked for an "advice". No willingness to explain anything like differences in taste. No smile, not friendly... We felt like being an offense.

At least the young girl was willing to explain a bit about the absynthe and looked friendly when we paid our bill... No worries to the "old" waitress... We are not...
