Wow. Rude. Horrible. The owner/waiter insulted my wife right in front of us and every other patron there. I took my wife here for our anniversary dinner. We weren't given menus or addressed in any way for about 10 minutes. We were eventually given menus, ordered a bottle of sparkling water and generous selections from their menu. When the sparkling water came we filled the two wine glasses at our table (we don't drink alcohol and like pretending to be fancy). Almost immediately, the waiter stormed back, reached across us, grabbed our water filled wine glasses off the table and unceremoniously dumped their contents into our other two non-wine glasses. He then took our wine glasses away. We mentioned this to another, kinder server, and my wife requested another wine glass, which was promptly given to us. Then, almost immediately, the first waiter strolls past us, turns around, waves his hand low by his waist for visual effect, and yells in french to ME (translated into english), "Ah the whim of little children", referring to my wife. Everyone heard. This waiter did not know we speak french, and probably intended to insult us back handedly. We did not wait for our food. We got up and left. If you're traveling to Cannes, and you want good food and to be treated like a normal human, do NOT eat here. Avoid this hole in the wall. Or feel free to give them the finger as...
Read moreHow would you feel when treated as a "B" class customer? At le Marais I made this experience and it has been really unpleasant. What happened in brief: I ordered a starter and a cockerel as main course but after a while I was informed that the cockerel was finished. So I ordered something else. For some reason they forgot my starter that arrived when my vtable friend already finished their starters. But the bad thing was still to come. They served twocockerels to the table aside that arrived and ordered after us. They were "A" class customers probably and I was "B". On top of it my main course arrived when my friends had already finished their meal since a while. I stand up and argued with the owner and told him that I was expecting a bottle of champagne as a sign of repar for the awful exoerience. Indeed the sign came as 6 glasses of what I only supposed it was champagne since the bottle didn’t show up. So at least a sign, even though poorly done, tht anyhow leaves a hope...
Read moreWe’ve dined in many restaurants in Cannes — from luxurious to casual — and Le Marais stands out as the absolute best in terms of quality, atmosphere, and price.
The €36 menu includes a starter, main, and dessert, with several great options. Everything we tasted was outstanding — fresh ingredients, generous portions, and refined flavors that show real care in the kitchen. Even my husband, who normally avoids snails, became a fan after trying them here!
The service is another highlight. The woman who served us — and who we believe also owns the place — is simply amazing. She has a warm, genuine presence and made us feel right at home. Her energy adds something truly special to the experience. We honestly couldn’t recommend her enough.
The menu is focused but strong, and the value is unbeatable for Cannes. We came back multiple times during our stay — that’s how good it was.
Highly recommended to anyone visiting Cannes who appreciates great food, warm service, and a...
