Unfriendly staff, very low quality food and too expensive I wish we read the reviews before dining here as most of them match with our experience in this restaurant. I don’t usually write reviews, indeed this is my first time ever leaving a bad review to a restaurant. My friend and I were looking forward to a delicious mussel dinner, but unfortunately this turned out to be a big disappointment. We both ordered the marinated tomato, what we got was dry mussels plus it smelled awful and was testless. More than half of the them were still closed, which is a clear sign of poor quality. On the bottom of the bowl there was dirty grey water that looked nothing like a sauce, it smelled horrible. Because it was €26 of mussels I still wanted to give it a try and proceed to ask to the waiter to add some more tomato sauce to make it taste like something and the chef added COLD tomato sauce. This is unacceptable. At that point me and my friend wasn’t even hungry no more. We ask to take off the mussels from the bill as we didn’t ate it as it was inedible and the boss response was “in France you pay even if you don’t like it”. The point wasn’t the fact that we didn’t like it but the fact that it wasn’t inedible! Those mussels smelled so bad that it would probably make somebody sick. Eventually I had to pay for the whole bill and the boss didn’t even care if we were unhappy about the food and the experience in her restaurant. Don’t eat here… there’s so many better restaurants in Cannes. Me and my friend after we left we headed to the Caveau Provencal and I would definitely recommend it: the fish was delicious and the staff friendly…it made us forget about the terrible experience we just had.

I went here on a first date? Travel date? Anyways he showed me the city and wanted to go to dinner by the beach, but I wanted something more intimet and just as good. Oh was it better than good! I have worked in top rated french restaurants in the USA, traveled around France. This meal was absolutely perfect and farand above what I could ever hope for. Tucked away at the top of the street with all of the restaurants before you get to the steps of the church. The portions were generous! An American will not be let down. We did 3-courses for $32. Drinks were $8 each. The chef came out and said hi, told us his story of running a Michellin Star restaurants, now being a private chef in the winter and doing this restaurant for the season. You need to go. Stop here before going up the stairs to see Cannes at night a glow.

Very nice dinner meal for 29 euro. I would eat there again. I had foie gras, duck confit (they ran out of magret duck breast), and crème caramel. The food was nice, especially the confit which was perfectly done and paired well with homemade buttery mashed potatoes. I enjoyed the salad and foie gras as well. Crème caramel was tasty and a nice end to the meal. It was not crowded on the patio, and there were others eating there as well (they seemed to be enjoying the mussels entree). It is on the main restaurant road in the Suquet. I ate at some of the other places there, and this one has a nice meal for a few euros less than its neighbors.

Threatened with police!

I would not go to this restaurant even if it’s the last place on earth.

I ordered a salmon steak. After receiving my salmon, I cut it into slices and saw that it was not cooked. There were also white particles. I did not eat the meal, I cut it and took only one bite. My mother was upset and said that she will not pay for the salmon.

Coming with an agressive tone, the waitress offered to cook it again, or to order something else, but I was disgusted and I believe that I have the right to refuse to eat something that disgusts me. I lost all trust in the restaurant after being threatened with calling the police. When you sit in a restaurant, you expect quality, you deserve quality, you deserve respect (bear in mind salmon was 31€).

What disgusted me the most and made me not want to re-order is the agression and threats we received from the waitress. She called my mother rude, she corrected her pronunciation (we’re not French), she made fun of her accent and asked her if she thought she was a ‘duchess’. She tapped on the table with her finger and said ‘you will pay’.

There was another man who came to intimidate us with a threatening tone saying that the police would be there but we will pay regardless. My mother offered to pay for our drinks and her pizza but the both the man and the waitress said no, you will pay for everything.

I have never been confronted with so much disrespect, hatred, discrimination and aggression in a restaurant. At the end, we stayed 5 hours until police came. The waitress had a group of friends sitting with her on the table opposite us and the whole time they were mocking us, doing a toast for ‘France’.

Chauvinistic, agressive, food quality below 0.

On top the chef came to our table visibly drunk (after seeing her having drink multiple beers whilst waiting for the police) trying to prove us that what her colleague did was not wrong.

This place needs to be shut down...

The wife and I wanted to stop along the lovely Rue du Suquet for a small bite to eat. She ordered the mussels, which we wanted to share with two glasses of wine. After taking our order, the waitress returned (already embarrassed) and told us that her boss needed us to order another entree in order to for us to be able to eat - for some reason, the two of us could not share an entree despite the restaurant not being busy (it was after 10pm). Sure it was strange, but whatever - hopefully the food was going to be good.

Anyways, I ordered a pizza (that i didn’t want) and when it arrived, alas it reminded me of Stoffers French bread pizza from the grocery store frozen section, which is a solid choice at 2am if I’m 21 and coming home from the bar, but that was decades ago and Stoffers doesn’t cost 22 euros. Strangely, the couple beside us got only drinks and the father with two kids at another table was able to order one pizza for all of them. Needless to say, the entire experience was poor to quite poor and while our waitress was delightful, she acknowledged being embarrassed while we checked out our 78 euro tab for a half-eaten pizza, half-eaten mussels and fries and two glasses of wine.

In a city with so many other wonderful dining options, I cannot think of one reason as to why to stop here. If not for our waitress acknowledging the absurdity of the situation, this would be a 1-star review. Do yourself a favor and...
