Le 24 suquet — Restaurant in Grasse

Is it a tourist trap?? I booked a table for 9pm and got confirmation. Even wrote that it was a birthday celebration. When we arrived, I said I have pre-booked. They didn’t ask for my booking and no table was reserved. I said I have booked a table for 9. Seem not to care. We had to wait for approx 40min for the table - used the time to walk around. We ordered appetif and food. No flag on the table and no happy anniversary. Took around 30 minutes before the dinner was served. The seabass I got I could prepare it better my self. Lamb shoulder was good but had much better in other provenance restaurants. Got the bill - the appertif (2 beers) was even not on the house even due to the delay that’s clearly was a fault by them!!! I mean if I was the owner I would offer the appeterif for being sorry for the delay. Due to the delay the glacieria I had promised my son for the birthday was unfortunately closed. So why isn’t it that Le 24 Cannes does care more about it customers? I think it is because so many tourists is walking by- it’s more about money than service and the kitchen- that’s...

We were coaxed into this restaurant by the very friendly waiter as we had wanted some late night local fish fare. We had already eaten dinner earlier, but wanted to share two fish entrees between two couples. We opted for an open table on the patio in the street. Once the waiter learned of our order and that we were not EACH ordering an entree, his friendliness turned sour and he directed us to go inside to eat such a meal, or leave. I understand how optics work for a business and all, but at a later hour, an empty table looks worse for optics, in my opinion. Despite the rude experience at this restaurant, we left to a nearby restaurant that was far more welcoming and hospitable.

SMART TIP: Gain the waiter's approval of what you would like to eat before entering...

AMAZING food + service!!

Tried to make a reservation online an hour prior, and unfortunately I do not have a French phone number to call and check up, so I decided to test my luck (seeing as I was just a table for 1). As I arrived they found a table for me - luckily.

The mojito that I ordered was absolutely spectacular! I did have a modification for the drink and yet the barmaid accommodated it with enthusiasm!

The steak was absolute perfection as well and I must recommend their pepper sauce! Perfect portions.

A tip: do come hungry so you have room for desert… I unfortunately did not 😅
