Melting Pot - Thumbs up for the food, ambiance and service
Melting Pot has recently been added to my favourite restaurants. This french restaurant, located in the heart of the city has totally hit the brief when it comes to their menu. I went there with one of my friends to have lunch, and it was absolutely wonderful.
The decor and the seating arrangement make this restaurant cosy and a perfect place for families, friends and couples.
Being a vegetarian in France could be quite challenging in terms of finding suitable options to eat. Melting pot bridges that gap by offering a lot of vegetarian dishes. I was really happy 🙂 My friend ordered Pan-fried sea bass fillet, chorizo and piquillo coulis, tagliatelle and I ordered Wok-style sautéed vegetables, satay sauce (peanuts), basmati rice. Both the dishes were perfect to taste. We also ordered French toast style brioche, caramelised apples and Cheesecake on red fruit coulis. We thoroughly enjoyed our conversation with the perfectly served food. We paid about €55 for everything, which to me is quite reasonable for the quality of the food and service. I totally recommend booking a table at...
Read moreExemplary service from beginning to end. My server was courteous, warm and helpful - he made recommendations on the wine and described the options well so I was pleased that what I chose was what I exactly expected. Everyone was friendly and smiling — checked in that I was happy with my food, if my dessert order was on the way, and my server also made it a point to bade me ‘good afternoon’ as he ended his shift.
Food was very good and well presented. I appreciated that there is an English translated menu for non French speakers. It’s also available online so you can check beforehand what’s available for the day. Portion was generous and I was filled with my main + dessert order. They also offer set menu on weekdays.
Highly highly recommend when visiting Lille! Their location is near the Grand Place and Opera, on the quiet, less touristy side. Reserve in advance as they get...

For starters, I chose the tuna, followed by duck breast as the main course, and finished with fondant au chocolat for dessert. While I personally didn’t enjoy the raw bean sprouts in the starter, the fish and its sauce were nice. The duck breast was exceptional, perfectly complemented by sweet potatoes with paprika, which balanced the flavors. The fondant au chocolat was a highlight—not overly sweet, with the slight bitterness of dark chocolate, and the crème anglaise added a delightful balance.
The staff were friendly, and the restaurant’s central location, overlooking the Grand Place, added to the experience. I’ll...
