How is it possible that one can be treated so nicely and so badly by a waiter in a span of 10 mins?
Our son wanted pizza so this was one of the places we found in the area at that end of Lafayette bridge. We stopped by Chez Carlo without a reservation (to be honest we didnât need one, the place had plenty of empty tables outside). We could basically chose table so we sat at a table that the waiter (who later treated us badly) picked for us at the end of the outdoor seating area, we had plenty of space for stroller, for the kid to play, for our pet dog, etc. so we felt we were being accommodated and given a good considered service.
After a few minutes our son decides he doesnât want pizza anymore. We tell to the mentioned waiter that we decided not to eat there and then he unleashed his unconsidered judgemental side and started giving us parenting lessons as he walked away with a monologue about how on earth a kid can choose the meal for adults, etc and âwishing us a nice eveningâ.
We had a couple of bad experiences with French waiters in Lyon but I want to think we were dealt the bad apples of waiters and has nothing to do with food service in France but I donât come to France often enough to give a significant evaluation.
Itâs unfortunate that we didnât eat at Chez Carlo to rate their food but seriously with the service given in just 10 mins Iâm glad we...

On sâinstalle. On commande.
Read moreI've been Chez Carlo three times but I consider one of the best places in town to have a real pizza napoletana or a good pasta. The waitress which unfortunately I coudn't see your face and I don't know her name was very professional and she was amazing. She was completely in control of the service at the Lunch time with all the tables complete. The food was great but the service made me want to come back many other times more. I definately...
