The culinary journey at Bouchon Tupin is nothing short of extraordinary. I began my meal with the foie gras, which was a delightful prelude to what was to come. Rich and velvety, it set the tone for a dining experience that would exceed all expectations.
The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the main course: a chicken filet with a lobster sauce. This dish was a revelation, blending tender, perfectly cooked chicken with a luxurious lobster sauce that was both decadent and perfectly balanced. It was, without a doubt, the best dish I have ever had, deserving a perfect 10/10. The flavors were harmoniously layered, creating a taste sensation that left a lasting impression.
The impeccable service further enhanced the dining experience. The staff at Bouchon Tupin were attentive and knowledgeable, providing excellent recommendations and ensuring that every aspect of the meal was flawless.

Read moreWe were visiting Lyon for a few hours and wanted to check out the local dishes. Bouchon is the a typical Lyonnais restaurant where they serve local traditional dishes. After some research on the net, we made our rsvp online. We were a group for 5. When we arrived we were given a choice to dine inside (very nice and cosy but no AC) so we opted to sit outside. A typical al fresco by the street which didn't have much traffic. We scanned the QR flash and had the menu. The waiter came by quickly to take our orders. He listened to the allergies and gave his recommendations on what I could eat. He even offered to make a lactose free wine sauce to go with the main dish just for me. Everyone in our group gave thumbs up for the food. Prices are reasonable. Check out their menu on their website or use the QR code I included in the photos. Both the waiter/waitress were friendly and efficient. If you are looking for a local restaurant, I highly recommend this place off the beaten tracks in Vieux Lyon (old city). I was told sometimes patience is required when they are full. RSVP recommended and payment us at the counter. The only thing lacking was al fresco dining area which could be a little bit...
Read moreThis is a wonderful example of a typical Lyonnaise bouchon. The food was absolutely delicious, definitely 5 out of 5 stars. Saucisson as amuse bouche. Avocado creme with prawns as appetizer, grouper with aioli and succulent pork filet as main courses. We had praline tart, chocolate brownie, and fresh strawberries with cream for dessert. It was superb. Unfortunately, the wait staff completely ignored us as soon as they served the main course. Granted - the restaurant was packed at this point and there were only 3 servers. But there was no organization at all. All waiters served both inside and outside, that just doesn't work. They kept passing our table, making eye contact as well as looking at our empty plates, but then just ignoring us. We ended up sitting idle for an hour before anyone bothered to stop at our table. We would have loved to have ordered a coffee and a digestiv after dessert, but again nobody bothered to stop and ask. So we ate our dessert, got up to pay and left. Grabbed an espresso somewhere else. It was not how we envisioned the night ending, but the food is definitely exquisite, especially considering the teeny-tiny kitchen where it...
