We were really looking forward to our trip to Lyon and after some research and because of the good reviews we decided to book a table on the restaurants website. After receiving the booking confirmation we went from the Netherlands to Lyon and to restaurant La Mere Jean. We showed up at the right time but were told that they die not have a table for us and that the booking was cancelled. Even after showing the confirmation they said simply 'no, sorry. I recently dined at a charming restaurant in Lyon and had a wonderful experience. I was the only non-French person there on a Monday afternoon, but the staff were so welcoming and helpful. They took the time to explain everything on the menu in English and made sure I was comfortable. I ordered a few traditional dishes, and they were all delicious. The praline tart was especially good! The restaurant was also very affordable. I paid only 35 euros for 3 courses and 2 glasses of wine. If you're looking for a great meal in Lyon, I highly recommend...

Ma première expérience dans cette institution lyonnaise fut pour moi l'occasion de découvrir une cuisine locale si reconnu et pour dire je n'ai pas été déçu. En effet, nous avions réserver pour mon anniversaire avec des amis pour 21h et présent à 20h45 nous avons été accueilli par un serveur soit dis en passant très mignon et à la une musculature fort avantageuse. L'ambiance à l’intérieurement était fort agréable et le charme typique des murs nous font comprendre ma fois bien vite que nos allons passer un un agréable moment en bonne compagnie ce qui pour le coup s'est avéré vrai. Par la suite, après avoir reçu les cartes j'ai été transporté dans un univers où un repas gourmand et typiquement français rimait avec prix bas. Ce même repas qui à su me rassasier fus d'une générosité sans nom. Aussi, que dire du dessert qui apporte une fraicheur à la suite d'une entrée et d'un plat au poil. Enfin, mon moment préféré fut sans aucun doute le dessert. Pour la raison que ce beau jeune homme (le même apollon béni des dieux qui nous avait accueilli) m'a apporté ce dessert avec en plus sur le dessus une bougie tout cela en me chantant la célèbre chanson connu de tous "joyeux anniversaire" me rappelant ainsi mon père qui me l'a chantée tous les ans pour mon anniversaire avant de partir un jour de la maison pour allé je cite: "acheter des clopes" abracadabrantesque et déconcertant pour quelqu'un qui ne fume pas bref, passons.
