Le Coin Provencal — Restaurant in Marseille

Really enjoyed this small street front sidewalk restaurant. After walking all along the myriad of restaurants facing the port, we decided on this one. What a great decision. Service was excellent and the food was outstanding. This is exactly what we needed after a morning of walking to the sites. There were three of us and each one got exactly what we were looking for in the city. My wife had Salade de Chêvre Chaud. Cheese was melted on toast and the salad itself had plenty of fresh vegetables. She said the cheese had the perfect bite for the dressing and greens. Our friend had the grilled sardines. Don’t thing American sardines like on pizza or in the little cans, these were fresh fish about 4 to 6 inches long and grilled to perfection. The bones are soft, so no worry about just chomping down. The flavor was excellent and served with a small side salad and French fries. I had the mussels provincial. Plentiful and fresh and meaty. But, not swimming in red sauce like so many places. Here the mussels were the stars and they deserved it. Also served with a side of fries. So, as you wander up and down Quai du Port overwhelmed by the choices, let me help you with the decision...

Solid place to eat well-priced seafood and bouillabaisse that serves mainly locals even though it's on the quay with a nice view of the basilica.

I had the bouillabaisse, a delicious broth with mussels, a large piece of fish, potatoes and grated cheese and croutons on the side which I added to the bowl. There was a lightly spicy, garlicky soft butter that was really good spread on the croutons before I added them to the broth to soften. Simple but perfect for 26 euro lunch.

My husband had the local fish of the day, dorade (sea bream), which was deliciously grilled whole and covered with cooked tomatoes, red peppers and onions and accompanied by a salad, fries and dollop of ratatouille for 18 euros.

The 50cl pitcher of local house rose was very nice with our meal, 10.50 euro.

Je souhaite partager mon expérience récente le 14 juillet dans ce restaurant et exprimer mon profond mécontentement. Tout d'abord, je déconseille vivement cet établissement, malgré son emplacement avantageux. Le service que j'ai reçu était extrêmement médiocre, et la serveuse en particulier était non seulement dépourvue de sourire, mais aussi désagréable au possible. Nous avons dû attendre près de 25 minutes avant d'être servis pour nos boissons, ce qui est totalement inacceptable.

Pendant notre repas, une fille a tenté de passer à travers le restaurant, étant donné que celui-ci était situé dans un coin bloquant le passage vers la rue. À ma grande surprise, la serveuse s'est mise à crier et à parler très rudement à la jeune fille. J'étais choquée de voir comment la serveuse aurait pu traiter la situation de manière plus calme et aimable, mais malheureusement, son comportement était extrêmement désagréable. La fille a finalement fait le tour pour contourner le restaurant, mais elle est revenue vers la serveuse et l'a insultée.

En observant de loin, j'ai remarqué que son collègue et le directeur étaient également impliqués dans cet échange houleux avec des mots grossiers. Ils ont même tenté de frapper la jeune fille et son compagnon, bien que la serveuse soit clairement responsable de l'incident. Cependant, il est important de noter que le couple n'a pas réagi de manière agressive malgré les insultes.

En tant qu'influenceuse, je considère qu'il est de mon devoir de partager cette expérience sur les réseaux sociaux. Je suis consternée par le niveau de responsabilité de la direction ainsi que par le comportement irrespectueux de leurs employés. Il est tout à fait inacceptable de traiter les clients de cette manière, en particulier lorsque ceux-ci réagissent de manière calme face aux provocations.

En conclusion, je déconseille fortement ce restaurant en raison du service médiocre, du comportement irrespectueux de la serveuse et de l'altercation choquante à laquelle j'ai assisté. J'espère sincèrement que cette critique constructive aidera l'établissement à améliorer ses pratiques et à fournir une meilleure expérience à ses...
