Knocking 1 star largely on price. 32€ for 1 whole crab is steep. I can get half a bushel or more of blue crabs at home for that. It was a big crab but not for the price and lack of seasoning. Shrimp given the size (large) were about right at 2€/each. Asked for 4 and charged for that but got 6 so I left them a bit extra to make it right. Very fresh! Just wish the crab and shrimp were served hot instead of on ice, but given the focus is oysters (traditionally served that way, iced) understandable.

At home in Virginia we usually serve the crab whole, hot after boiling, sometimes with spices thrown in the crab pot, then using fingers or a knife remove the shell (pop by using knife/finger as a lever by placing from sex organs to head and pulling up) , pop the legs off, and remove the lungs and organs, then crack the center mass in half and press to collapse the chitin below the lungs, allowing easy access to the meat in the core. Butter or spice mix is used on the meat to add flavor. Bangers or back of the knife to crack legs and claws.

If ownership wants a recipe for crab cakes (a form of pate made from crab meat and spices), my family has been making them for generations and I can get them one. Easy addition to the menu that would rate the...

This was our top spot in Cassis for food. The restaurants on the front of the harbour are nice for a drink but the food in general is a bit mediocre and overpriced (you're paying for the great view) but this is slightly more tucked away so they make up for it with INSANE food. The prices are incredibly reasonable and the seafood is 👌🏼👌🏼. If you like your seafood definitely get the mixed oyster plate so you can try the different types of oyster to compare. Our favourite was the gratine razor clams - exquisite! They do run out so it's worth trying to get there at the start of service to ensure you have all options on the menu.

A heads up that we did attempt to book by calling and speaking to someone but when we got there they said they didn't have our booking so maybe dont bother over the phone - might be better to go in person and watch them write it down. Saying that, there were some tables available for walk-ins but it is...

I am NYC traveler and I travel to the nicest destinations in the world with the best food. While the food met that standard, the service was not good. Clearly they are not interested in taking money from American tourists. Oysters and boards were 10/10, which was devastating because the waitress was so extremely rude to us because we were American. She was short with us in every interaction, there was no interest in helping us understand the menu (in French only). When I asked for water, she said ‘I only have two hands’, lots of small aggressions like this throughout out meal. We were uncomfortable and made to feel out of place.

Food was fantastic and maybe even worth it, but know that if you are American this restaurant is not interested in (and perhaps does not want) your business so do with that what you will.

This was...

We ducked away from the Easter crowds and found a quiet, sun-drenched gem just around the corner from the bustling port. Le Petit Oyster Bar served up everything we’d hoped for — and then some. I had a plate of local oysters that tasted like the sea itself, brightened with mignonette and fresh lemon. My husband went for the moules gratinées, rich and bubbling with flavor. We paired it all with a chilled bottle of Bandol white wine and a cappuccino entremet from a nearby bakery for dessert. The service was friendly and relaxed — our waiter spoke perfect English and graciously tolerated my French with a smile. Recommended by our favorite local barman — and now by us!

We were 4 people eating. (And a dog) We arrived for the happy hour to eat the oysters, but we stayed for the whole evening! The oysters are from a high quality, so so good! We took an extra plate of oysters, extra mussels and a very nice big platter. And shared a delicious dessert. They are only two to keep the restaurant open but we had such a nice evening with the best service! Good energy and always with a laugh! Definitely would recommend the place and for sure coming back! Les 4 Belges ✌🏽

Skip the busy beachside restaurants and visit this quaint little place that focuses on serving each customer with care. When we were there, it was one guy being server and chef, and he handled everything amazingly. The seafood was all very fresh, and the vegetarian "poke bowl" was super tasty. You get to sit in a peaceful little alley just off the main boardwalk and tithe choice of music really matched the atmosphere.
