This is a rare gem, a unicorn. It’s exactly what a sea front fish restaurant should be and ever so rarely (maybe never) is: a laid back place where you can go without dressing up and people in jeans and tshirts serve you the freshest sea food and good wine without charging half your paycheck and are up for a joke. The value for money in this place is insane - what some €70 gets you here is 200+ in other places that would offer this quality and freshness. Staff are all very friendly, what you would hope your next door neighbours to be. Otherwise it’s set right in the corner of the marina with the best views from the terrace. The first time this place happened upon us as we were in Cassis, this time we drove for an hour just to eat here and couldn’t be happier about it. We recommend all sea food, give the calamari with guanciale a go and the shrimp tartar with mango and avo is top top also. If you get a tourteau on your starter plate, I bet you don’t finish your main. First photo from last time, second from this evening, the big crab is the size of a rugby ball.

The customer service at Le Canaille is great. The quality of the sea food is good overall. And the atmosphere is great for a romantic dinner night, especially if you go for a table inside the restaurant. A tree is partially inside, which adds to the uniqueness of the place. The servers are attentive and friendly. They may even let you stay past the closing hour. Since the restaurant is well situated, you will be entertained by the view to the sea and artists—painters, singers, musicians. You’ll make great memories whether you go alone or with company. I would highly recommend.

If you're a fan of top-notch quality, this is the place in Cassis you don't want to miss. If oysters are your passion, you'll feel right at home here. The octopus salad? Absolutely top-tier, leaving nothing to be desired. The staff is friendly, though their English might be a bit of a work in progress—but hey, that’s part of the charm, right? And the wine selection? Exquisitely chosen. Honestly, if you're not already here, what are you even doing?
