My friends and I had an amazinggg time with authentic Indian cuisine, including chicken tikka, daal, butter chicken gravy, cheese and normal naan, chicken biryani! 😀 It was really tasty!
The second time we went too, it was a really amazing experience, starting from being offered royal chairs and tables (giving us the feel of being Maharajas and Queens from the olden days) to reallyyy tasty food! This is an experience I have never had in Singapore, so it was truly amazing!
My friends and I tried some different food from previously - this time, it was Vege biryani, mixed vegetable curry with rice, naan with shahi korma. The food was really nice...the shahi korma gravy was sooooo tasty, with the butter and cashew mixture in the gravy giving it an amazing silky taste - I would definitely recommend it to anyone who visits Gandhi.
Vegetable curry was also special having a rich taste that melted in our mouths and Vege biryani was truly authentic - for past 2 years I have been making Vege biryani but this was something I am still very far from - it was truly perfect!
The owner was a very good host and constantly checked on us to ensure we are well served. He does not hesitate to give us refills if we finish the food and even gave us 2 carrot halwas complimentary!
I would recommend anyone in Nantes or Toulouse to visit Gandhi restaurant, as the food is a treat for the tongue while being affordable and the overall experience will bring you back to the olden days of Indian kingdoms!
If anyone wants to hang out there one of the evenings I'm up for it! Gandhi restaurant is a must-visit for tourists and locals alike in France :)...
Read moreI ordered from the €13 lunch menu, as this is also offered on Saturdays. I had the pakora starter (which turned out to be aubergine), chicken curry main (no specification of the type of curry and very little information revealed when I asked) and ice cream dessert.
The food was mostly tasty. The salad with the pakora was not fresh. There wasn't much chicken in the curry.
The menu was supposed to come with naan bread, but they had none left. No reduction in price or a substitute was offered. Instead, I was told I could upgrade to a cheese naan for a €1.50 surcharge.
My main issue was the lack of cleanliness. There were bits of salad on several of the serving dishes that looked like they'd been there for days. The bottle that the water came in looked like it hadn't been cleaned for years (if ever) and needed...
Read moreAbsolutely brilliant Indian restaurant. Truly authentic ingredients, lovely owner, family run. Best Indian I’ve visited in France. We were put off initially that there was nobody in there, but seeing the Google reviews (and the heavy rain) convinced us to give it a try. We weee definitely not disappointed. The mix pakora was so tasty, and pretty unique. I went for Lamb at the chefs recommendation, perfectly cooked. And as I like it spicy (being English) the chef got the perfect heat and offered more if it wasn’t enough. My partner had Spinach and Paneer which she said was the best she’d had. Accompanied by a nice bottle of red, rice and garlic naan. Total price for both of us just shy of €60. Would...
