Stopped in for a quick bite to eat, wasn't sure if it was going to be good or not. We were immediately greeted by a smiling gentleman at the bar, asking us if we wanted to have a seat at a table. The place inside looked amazing with a great old school ambience, so we decided to try it out. We were amazingly surprised at how good the food was and how great the service of the people were. The prices were reasonable, around €20 for two people, and we were completely stuffed once we were finished. This is a rare fifth generation family owned and operated business. Even rarer that the family work so well together.
I read previous reviews about half a table not ordering and being asked to leave. I can assure you I’ve seen them freely serve water and a table to those in need.
The only reason anyone would be asked to move is if they are sitting in the dining area during lunch time and should be seated in the bar for drinks, even if one person is eating and the others not. They typically have a very busy lunch and manage their tables well.

Read moreI have to say that the same thing that happened to @saskia Beth and @Elena potter happened to me. I thought the French hospitality is quite nice as I checked out other bars in the city. When I first came to the Cave Washington there was no problem but one day an old woman kicked out some of my friends because they didn't want to have a drink at this time. Nevertheless I was really disappointed about that and I don't think that i'll come back here also I would recommend tourists to rather go to a bar at the sea or in the center, the hospitality seems way...
